The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of the performance of BUMDes on the welfare of management and BUMDes members, using social capital as a moderation variables evidence from Sleman Regency. This BUMDes performance measurement uses three components of performance measurement, there are: responsiveness, responsibility, and accountability. Well-being is measured using income variables. The sample size of this study around 11 BUMDes with a total of 50 respondents. This study used quantitative methods with PLS-SEM analysis model and WarpPLS 7.0 analysis tool. These findings reveal that responsiveness, responsibility, and accountability have an impact on the revenues of management and BUMDes members. Meanwhile, the variable of social capital moderation can only strengthen the relationship between the responsiveness of BUMDes to the income of BUMDes management and BUMDes members. The implication of the study to improve the quality of human resources and the ability to commit to managing BUMDEs as crucial factors to increase BUMDEs performances and lead to an increase in their member's welfare.","PeriodicalId":282022,"journal":{"name":"Optimum: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Pembangunan","volume":"20 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140768209","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Sumatra, eight of the ten provinces show that manufacturing is the top three sector with the largest share of the economy. Apart from its important role, its existence cannot be separated from its adverse effects on the environment. Therefore, this empirical research will provide insight into how to find appropriate policies to maintain economic and environmental sustainability. Using panel regression, our results revealed that the number of industries and the increase in capital will influence environmental degradation. In addition, energy and fuel consumption have a negative impact on the environment, although with low statistical significance. Government spending for ecological purposes is required to reduce the adverse effects of industrialization. However, its effectiveness in the model is statistically insignificant because of the low fiscal budget allocation. As a recommendation, some policies can be implemented, including monitoring and evaluating program budgets, strengthening and coherency regulations, and synergy-commitment between the government and industry toward zero emissions.","PeriodicalId":282022,"journal":{"name":"Optimum: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Pembangunan","volume":"296 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140779558","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The balance of payments is a systematic record of economic transactions involving one country with another country in a certain period of time, therefore the balance of payments can be influenced by various components, one of which is the market. This research is important because the results of previous research are inconsistent and over time many economic phenomena occur that will affect a country's balance of payments. The novelty of this study lies in its particular focus on the effect of market turmoil on the balance of payments in ASEAN countries. This study used quantitative methods using secondary data. This research uses panel data analysis techniques with a Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach. The results of this study show that partially the stock index has a significant positive effect and the exchange rate has a significant negative effect on the balance of payments. This research can provide important insights for business decision makers, governments, and international institutions to understand and respond to rapid economic developments in ASEAN.","PeriodicalId":282022,"journal":{"name":"Optimum: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Pembangunan","volume":"147 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140787073","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Capital difficulties are a classic problem faced by MSMEs, but the high growth of MSMEs is a gap that shows the resilience of MSMEs. Therefore, this study wants to analyze whether the existence of MSMEs encourages economic growth, or vice versa, economic growth must be boosted to increase MSMEs. This study investigates the causal relationship and long-term stability conditions between MSME credit distribution variables and Indonesia's economic growth in the 2011 - 2019 period, using Direct Error Correction Model causality on panel data. The estimation result shows that MSME credit distribution has a positive and significant relationship to economic growth only in a long term. The object of this research is 50 small-scale fishermen on the coast of Kendari Bay with data collection methods using surveys and interviews. Data analysis was carried out to reveal the characteristics of small-scale fishermen on the coast of Kendari Bay, to examine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on fishermen's income, and the constraints faced by fishermen from an economic perspective. The results show that small-scale fishermen averagely work as fishermen from a young age, as a form of inheritance from their parents and cannot complete basic compulsory education. These two things are closely related to gender expectations on work participation. The purpose of this study was to estimate the gender pay gap at the work participation rate of household heads in Magelang during the Covid-19 pandemic. The analytical tools used are Probit regression and the decomposition of the Blinder-Oaxaca model. The model decomposes wage differentials by gender. The study uses the 2020 SAKERNAS data. The results show that work participation for male household heads is determined by the marginal effect of work experience, age and area of residence, not education level and number of family dependents, while female household heads are only determined because of the number factor. family responsibilities. Furthermore, the potential work experience of male household heads has a significant negative effect. Research findings from the Blinder-Oaxaca Decomposition calculation show that the difference in wages between groups of household heads during the Covid 19 pandemic proved statistically significant. The role of the government is expected to be more active in disseminating policies related to gender in the labor market and exercising control over business actors in implementing labor regulations.","PeriodicalId":282022,"journal":{"name":"Optimum: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Pembangunan","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127705882","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
