These problems can occur at any stage of the prescription, transcription, distribution, and administration of medications. Research into the frequency, manifestations, patterns, and treatment implications of drug-related problems in cardiovascular patients will advance, leading to a rise in patient safety and recovery. Methods: A potential interventional trial was discussed over the course of 8 months in the cardiology and tertiary care medical departments. The required demographic and clinker data were acquired from the case files. Results: In this study, 246 cardiovascular patients were enrolled, and 1567 drug-related problems (DRPs) were found, with reference to the inclusion and exclusion conditions. Conclusion: In conclusion, population ageing and growth contribute to the global increase in CVD fatalities. Alcohol and tobacco use are linked to CVDs, with harmful effects observed at high consumption levels. Excessive alcohol and smoking increase blood pressure, cholesterol, and the risk of stroke and heart failure. However, moderate drinking poses minimal risks and may have some benefits. Efforts to reduce smoking and excessive drinking are essential for improving cardiovascular health and reducing CVD-related risks. How to cite this article:Umar KM, Latha CM. Epicatechin-3-gallate, Epigallocatechin-3-gallate, abbreviated as EGCG, constitutes about 50-75% of the catechins. Administration of EGCG inhibits the proliferation of cancerous cells and encourages cell death (apoptosis). Sorafenib is an oral multikinase inhibitor that exerts its inhibitory effects on tumours through angiogenesis inhibition. So, the present study was undertaken to analyse the beneficial effects of naturally occurring agents, EGCG and sorafenib, on carcinoma of the liver. Materials and Methods: 40 adult male Wistar albino rats were procured and divided into five equal groups. Control animals were in Group 1 and negative controls were in Group 2 Sorafenib treatment was given to Group 3 and EGCG alone was given to Group 4 Group 5 received both sorafenib and EGCG. Results: We have found that the combined treatment group of EGCG and sorafenib had low levels of AFP, increased levels of mitochondrial enzymes, Phase II enzymes and showed a decrease in enzymes of Phase I and a fall in glycoprotein components level. Conclusion: Epigallocatechin-gallate (EGCG) when given with sorafenib has shown enhanced cytoprotective effects. How to cite this article:Neelamegam U, Suganthi V, Muthuvel R. The recent implementation of the National Pharmacovigilance Programme has encouraged ADR monitoring in some centres. Methods: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the sternness of described ADRs, the additional financial costs associated with ADRs, and the present load of ADRs at a Rural Development Trust (RDT) Hospital in Bathalapalli, Andhra Pradesh, India. The study was carried out over 26 months of inpatient admissions to the medical wards. Results: 37 of the 74 adverse drug events (ADEs) that were reported by 56 individuals were indeed ADRs. There were 521 patients admitted, and 9.7% of those ADRs occurred during hospitalisation. Males (56%) had ADRs more often than females (44%). During the hospital stay, no discernible difference between males and females was seen. ADR rates were 19.0%, 20.0%, and 61.0 % for paediatric, geriatric, and adult patients, respectively. Based on ADR severity, more than half of the reported reactions (76.49%) were in the moderate category, followed by mild (13.51%) and severe (10%) categories. 39.6% of patients recovered from the incident. The majority of the responses showed that the ADRs were unexpected and possibly avoidable. Conclusion: According to the study’s findings, 90% of ADRs might be prevented, saving the health system money and decreasing patient expenditures. To prevent unknown and severe ADRs, new medications should be continuously monitored.","PeriodicalId":276735,"journal":{"name":"Chettinad Health City Medical Journal","volume":"211 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136368310","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In India, physical inactivity is observed in the average population, mostly in office workers involved with sitting or clerical jobs. Studies showed that there are different barriers, facilitators, and preferences for exercises that already exist for office workers. To our knowledge, no questionnaire currently addresses perceived barriers to exercise among Indian office workers. Objective: To measure self-reported perceived barriers to exercise for the employees working in the office. Methodology: This study has two essential components: domain and item development and content validation using the online Delphi method. The questionnaire was validated using the Content Validity Index (CVI) and modified Kappa, the most used quantitative method for calculating content validity. The questionnaire was validated by a panel of 13 experts in two rounds of validation. Results: The initial testing revealed low content validity for individual items (I-CVI range: 0.50 to 1.00) and moderate agreement (Kappa range: 0.27 to 1). After modifying and replacing items, the second round achieved acceptable scores (CVI: 0.85-1 and Kappa: 0.84-1). The final instrument had five domains and twenty-five questions. The domains were as follows: (1) personal barrier; (2) professional barrier; (3) social and family barrier; (4) preferences; and (5) knowledge barrier domain. Conclusions: Using an iterative methodology, the validation of the perceived barriers to exercise questionnaire (PBEQ-I) for Indian office workers revealed a high level of item-content validity for assessing the perceived barriers to exercise among office employees. Further reliability testing is required to validate this instrument’s psychometric qualities. How to cite this article:Panda S, Singh A, Bali3 S, Bhargava A. Nonetheless, only a few studies have been published about physiotherapy treatment for patients with temporomandibular joint disc anterior displacement with reduction. A few studies have emphasised the relationship between increasing emotional stress and the occurrence of TMD. This report aimed to study the impact of integrated physiotherapy treatment (ultrasound therapy, soft tissue mobilisation, manual therapy and exercise therapy) approach for patients with temporomandibular joint disc displacement with reduction. The initial hypothesis of this study was that integrated physiotherapy treatment will reduce the patient’s symptoms and improve the quality of life. The outcome measures of our report showed that integrated physiotherapy treatment reduced the patient’s symptoms for a short period of time (3 weeks) post-treatment but was not effective in the long term. Even-though, the patient had followed all the self-management strategies, the patient was not able to cope with increasing emotional stress from day-to-day life which resulted in aggravation of the clinical condition. Our report concludes that the psychological aspect of the clinical condition must be included during the evaluation and treatment of patients with TMD for better treatment prognosis. Large vessel occlusion is mainly responsible for AIS. Earlier treatment of AIS is associated with improved outcomes. Multimodal imaging methods such as MRI and CT provide information that can help in diagnosing it. These methods are helpful in the prognosis of AIS and in the selection of patients who can be subjected to thrombolytic therapy. Objectives of the Study: The present comparative study has been conducted to understand whether MRI images are better for the diagnosis of AIS than CT, to assess the efficacy of tPA in the recovery of patients, and to explore the role of advanced imaging in acute stroke. Methods: The present study was conducted with 40 patients, aged 18 years and above who presented to the Emergency Department of Uppal Neuro Hospital, Amritsar, Punjab with a history of acute ischaemic stroke or hyperacute stroke between September 2017 and March 2018. All patients were examined using 32 slices CT and 1.5T MRI scanner. Among all cases, 17 patients had suffered a hyperacute stroke and 23 had suffered an acute ischaemic stroke. Conclusion: Sophisticated techniques such as perfusion imaging and non-invasive vascular imaging are becoming more effective tools for guiding prospective endovascular treatment or extending therapy windows in the case of patients with acute ischaemic stroke. The use of allopathic drugs has various side effects, hence new natural sources for therapies are vital. Materials and Methods: This research aimed to determine the possibility of wound healing by the ethanolic extract of Eucalyptus globulus leaves and Curcuma longa rhizomes. Albino rats were given oral administration of various plant extracts in order to find out how plant extracts affected diabetic rats’ wound healing. Results: These plant extracts greatly accelerated the wound’s ability to heal in diabetic or non-diabetic rats (p < 0.05). This increases the proliferation and migration of the fibroblast resulting in a faster healing process. These plant extracts do not cause cytotoxicity. After treatment, less amount of cell death was found for both plant extracts. The results were found to be positive. Conclusion: This research indicates that the ethanolic extracts of both plants have the potential to be used as novel therapeutics for diabetic patients’ wound healing.
