In India, little hasbeen studied about the quality of life of mothers of disabled children. This study is aimed to understand the quality of life of mothers whohave children with intellectual disability (ID) or locomotor disability(LD). Families caring for disabled children encounter unique obstaclesand responsibilities compared to those caring for children withoutdisabilities.Method: In this scientific study, 300 mothers (100 mothers havingchildren with intellectual disability, 100 mothers having children withlocomotor disability, and 100 mothers having normal children) wereselected from northern India. The WHO Quality of Life Brief Tool wasadministered to assess the quality of life in variables; the scale hasfour domains with 26 items. Results: The result of the study showed that the F value for qualityof life in mothers of intellectually disabled children, children withlocomotor disabilities and normal children, the F value for quality oflife was 203.774 which was significant at 0.001 levels of significance. Conclusion: This shows that there is a significant difference in the levelof quality of life among the group of mothers of normal children andchildren with intellectual and locomotor disabilities. The niosomes’ dimensions, shape, zeta potential, and degree of entrapment efficiency were then assessed. On the LRDentrapment, the niosomes’ cholesterol, Span-40, Span-60, and Span-80concentrations were measured. The patch system was filled with theoptimised niosomal formulations. Then, each patch was described using itsphysicochemical properties and results from in vitro permeation studies. Results: Patches containing niosomal vesicles, in contrast to controlpatches, demonstrated improved drug release. It was shown thatniosomal patches exhibited greater penetration than control patches.Niosomes’ surfactant serves as a permeation enhancer and enhancesLRD permeation from niosomes. Conclusion: The study concluded that the niosome-based transdermalpatches might effectively distribute LRD medications trans-dermallywhile minimising GIT adverse effects. Reminiscence is a psychosocial intervention and is one of theeffective non-pharmacological interventions to promote cognitive healthin older adults. The present study aims to investigate the effectivenessof group reminiscence among older adults. Methods: The present study was a single-blind randomised controlledtrial (RCT) conducted in Telangana, India. A total of 130 older adults, aged 60 years and above, who met the inclusion criteria were recruitedin the study. Of these adults, 65 subjects each were randomly assignedto experimental and control groups. The data were collected usingthe mental status examination. The experimental groups received agroup reminiscence for 12 weeks. The data were analysed using theSPSS-25 version. Results: The findings of the study highlight the effectiveness ofreminiscence as demonstrated in the improvement in the experimentalgroup (Z = -5.47, p < 0.01). The pre-post mean difference of the cognitivefunctions between the groups was analysed; the Z value was -6.174,p value was less than 0.01, and the effect size was -0.54, indicating alarge difference due to the group reminiscence intervention. Conclusion: The study findings highlight the effectiveness of the groupreminiscence intervention in promoting cognitive functioning amongolder adults. Given the substantial growth of the ageing populationin countries like India, where nurses play a critical role in the primaryhealthcare system, the study supports the need for equipping primaryhealthcare professionals with non-pharmacological interventions likegroup reminiscence to promote cognitive and mental health in theelderly population. Knowing the CVD risk factors could provide crucial insightsinto how to handle this major public health issue and comprehend itsgenesis. Many clinical illnesses are linked to autonomic imbalance, which is defined by an overactive sympathetic and an underactiveparasympathetic nervous system. Many hereditary and behaviouralvariables influence the likelihood of getting coronary heart disease(CHD). The CHD threat issues have an idiopathic origin, which suggeststhat the illness may pass down through generations as a result of geneticvariance. Two further probable causes of CHD include autonomicdysfunction and the Omega-3 Index. Although dietary modification isa key component of CVD prevention, the implementation of nutritionscience in clinical practice is constrained due to a dearth of formaleducation in the discipline. The precise elements of a heart-healthydiet, scientifically supported dietary recommendations, the effect ofnutrition on the management and prevention of CVD risk factors areall subjects covered in this article. Its objective is to update the bodyof information on these emerging approaches (in vitro, translational, animal, clinical) and to explain the rationale behind their possible usein the treatment of CAD. The data were collected from patients’medical records and through counselling the patients who visited theOut-Patient Department (OPD) or In-Patient Department (IPD). All patientswho met the inclusion criteria were enrolled in the study. Results: The incidence of migraine was found to be higher in females(78%) as compared to males (22%). The majority of patients had a severedisability and severe impact on HRQoL with high MIDAS (MigraineDisability Assessment Scale) and HIT-6 (Headache Impact Test-6) scores.A majority of patients gained less score showing poor quality of life withMSQoL v2.1 [Migraine Specific Quality of Life (version 2.1)]. A higherMIDAS score was observed in chronic migraineurs than episodic migraineurswhile HIT-6 showed a comparable score. Unlike MIDAS andHIT-6, MSQoL v2.1 showed lower scores in chronic migraineurs thanepisodic migraineurs which depicts that chronic migraineurs had a poorhealth-related quality of life than episodic migraineurs. Conclusion: Healthcare professionals should routinely evaluate thequality of life and related disability to determine whether patients arereceiving effective treatment and if any additional treatment strategiesare warranted to enhance QOL. India is known as the diabetescapital of the world since more than 62 million individuals are presentlysuffering from diabetes. The risk of dementia increases in individualswith type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM). Similarly, in individuals withhypertension (HTN), there is an increased risk of balance impairmentdue to reduced sensory inputs from peripheral nerves to the CNS. Thisstudy has been taken up to evaluate the correlation between balanceand cognition in the adult Indian population suffering from diabetesand hypertension using the Berg Balance and Montreal CognitiveAssessment scale.Method: Two hundred and ninety-eight middle-aged individuals werescreened for hypertension and/ or diabetes mellitus for this crosssectionalstudy. Each subject was assessed for balance and cognitionusing the Berg Balance Scale and Montreal Cognitive Assessment scalerespectively. The data that were obtained were tabulated and analysed.Result: The Pearson correlation analysis suggested a negative correlationbetween diastolic blood pressure (DBP) and cognition (r = -0.267; p =0.020) indicating that higher DBP causes cognition to deteriorate inhypertensive patients. It was seen that an increase in systolic bloodpressure correlated with a decline in cognitive ability among diabeticpeople. Conclusion: Hypertension with increased diastolic pressure resultsin detrimental cognitive decline. No correlation was found betweensystolic blood pressure (SBP), DBP and balance. An increase in theglycaemic level affects cognitive ability and increases the risk of falls.
