This work presented the allocation of Flexible Alternating Current Transmission Systems (FACTS) devices based on a new algorithm called the Improved Gray Wolf optimizing Method (IGWO). The proposed approach introduces the various FACTS controllers’ optimum location and size to mitigate the real power losses, bus voltage deviations, and system operating costs. The thyristor-Controlled Series Compensator (TCSC), Static Var Compensator (SVC), and Unified Power Flow (UPFC) devices have been used as FACTS devices. A comparative study was performed with other heuristic optimization algorithms, such as Grey Wolf optimizer (GWO) and Simulated Annealing (SA) algorithms, to verify the suggested algorithm’s effectiveness. Computer simulation has been applied to the IEEE 30 bus system. Cleaning of polluted water from impurities of petroleum products, phenol, hydrogen sulfide, cyanides, etc., using ozone gas (O3) as an oxidizer. Due to its strong oxidizer, ozone has a very high ability to break down organic substances, etc. impurities in aqueous solutions. Compared to the chlorination method, this ozonation method has many advantages. Firstly, Ozone can be obtained by installing ozonizers directly at the place of water purification and using the process of electric current disconnection from oxygen in the air. A comparison of the Boeing 777 Navigation System structure with one of III generation long-haul aircraft was made, with the indication of differences that justify the impossibility of applying previously developed methods to the Boeing 777 Navigation System. The authors consider the operational principles and technical peculiarities of operation of intelligent electrical energy storage systems, their classification, and peculiarities of external grid energy supply by electrical energy storage systems (EESS). The classification of EESS into intelligent and non-intelligent is provided. The main problems of introducing intelligent energy storage systems are highlighted. The study is based on the methods of statistical, historical, comparative, logical, economic-mathematical, and systemic analysis, which made it possible to propose the introduction of intelligent energy storage systems as a possible way to improve the quality and reliability of the electric power system. Reasons for the use of EESS in modern power industry are described. The ability of the power system to provide power supply to consumers is characterized by its system adequacy. In most countries, the acceptable adequacy level is between 3 and 35 deficit hours per year. At the same time, there are deficit power systems in which proper adequacy level is not provided. The paper analyses the operation of the electric power system in deficit mode. This problem is considered in the example of Lebanon, which has been in such mode for several decades. The paper describes the technical condition of the power system and climatic, geographical, and social conditions in which it operates. The analysis of renewable energy potential is performed. Based on annual climatic data calculated three scenarios for renewable power sources commissioning in Lebanon. Power balance is analyzed in presence of renewable power sources of different capacity. The algorithm is implemented in a software package developed by the authors and used to calculate the steady-state modes of electric networks. For a test design scheme, the transmission lines between structural divisions and indicators of power balance were determined and also structured power flows by voltage levels. This project is a modification of a more complex and bigger system – the robotic cash counting area. Before our modification a trained neural network was installed on a single board computer, but this caused the computer’s CPU (central processing unit) to be overloaded and soft was shutting down. We implemented and compared two methods of object detection in an image and video, namely Shi-Tomasi and FAST (Features from Accelerated Segment) methods. The modernization cases assume the Pressurized Heat Recovery Steam Generator (PHRSG) usage with the twostage gas turbine. The T-100 cogeneration steam turbine and the K-300 condensing steam turbine were selected as the modernization object. The modernization cases are carried out with the high-power SGT5-2000E gas turbine and low-power GT-25PA gas turbine. New combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant construction case is considered for comparison as an example of typical Russian modernization case. The main economic efficiency indicators were considered - net present value (NPV); internal rate of return (IRR); pay-back period – simple (PP) and discounted (DPP); profitability index (PI).
