These characteristics were optimized by applying high frequency plasma treatment, in order to increase their suitability for electronic purposes. Starting from the surface texture parameters, a deep analysis of the surface topographies at the interface with certain compounds was performed. The action of the plasma species generates a prevalent granular surface morphology, with higher roughness, improved bearing characteristics and minimal surface orientation. In addition, after the plasma treatment, a greater interaction between the AFM silicon tip and the polyimide film occurred, reflecting an increased surface adhesion. The obtained data reveal that the processed semi-alicyclic polyimide exhibits optimal features for microelectronic applications such as silicon/polyimide interfaces for flexible electronics.","PeriodicalId":271843,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical and Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122708266","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The finite element method (FEM) obtained results are compared with that calculated by using analytic estimation functions. Studies have shown that in HV transmission networks, where system-wide synchronized phasor measurement units are installed, voltage angle measurements can be included in the input measurements data set, with the result of improving the estimation precision. The authors developed in previous papers a SE algorithm based on Multilayer Perceptron Artificial Neural Networks. This work presents first steps in the process of development innovative multi-phase coupled inductor. Component will be used in MHz frequency region and it is intended to be used in the compact DC/DC converters. In first iteration, three types of NiZn materials have been selected as core materials for multi-phase coupled inductors. Results and analysis of ferrite core contribution to inductance frequency characteristic and Q-factor have been analyzed. SEM structural analysis and stress performance of ferrites are presented and analyzed in this work as additional parameter in process of selection. In Romania are over 75.000 Parkinson patients and the government spends over 1.5 million USD with them. Nowadays, there is no screening test for early detection of Parkinson's disease. In this paper is presented a noninvasive low cost health care system for Neurological Disorders Screening and Rehabilitation that can be used by doctors and patients, and also for research purposes. The system can assist the doctors/medical experts in monitoring, screening and rehabilitation of patients with Parkinson's disease or other Neurological Disorders, leading to an early and efficient diagnosis. From a technical point of view, the system uses the latest and most appropriate methods for medical signals acquisition and processing.","PeriodicalId":271843,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical and Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114528653","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By summing the signals produced at the level of each activated motor unit we achieve an electrical signal that can be recorded as electrical waves. In this study we aimed to identify a correlation between different types of muscular contractions and the muscle electrical activity. 23 healthy persons aged between 19 and 52 years participated to this study. By recording the electrical activity of the triceps brachialis muscle during its contraction it has been found that the strongest electrical activity of the muscle was produced during isometric contractions, followed by eccentric contraction, contraction with weight in the hand, contraction against gravity and contraction without gravity. In other words, as the muscle load is higher the muscle electrical activity is more intense.","PeriodicalId":271843,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical and Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"131 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115133462","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
