Many of us are facing devastating challenges that can be stressful and overwhelming for adults and children. Public health actions, such as social distancing, are necessary to reduce the spread of COVID-19, but they can make us feel isolated and lonely and can increase stress and anxiety. [1] The prevalence of mental disorders, such as depression and anxiety, is expected to rise since the COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout the pandemic, leading public health organizations — including the CDC, SAMHSA, the World Health Organization, and the United Nations — have released general considerations and resources addressing the mental health and wellbeing of both general populations and specific, highrisk groups during the pandemic","PeriodicalId":269506,"journal":{"name":"DMIMS Journal of Dental Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127902764","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Prolonged exposure to carcinogens may lead to the unregulaon of tumor suppressor genes and oncogenes, epigenec and cytogenec alteraons, and mutaons in mitochondria. Angiogenesis is crical for tumor progression, as tumor cell growth frequently outstrips the supply of O and nutrients. Demonstraon of angiogenesis in tumor stroma can be 2 carried out by IHC using anbodies CD105. Thus, the present study aims at assessing the expression of CD105 in oral squamous cell carcinoma. Material and Methods : The study comprised of 60 histopathologically diagnosed and surgically operated cases of OSCC of various histopathological grades from the departmental archives. The paraffin embedded ssue secon of 4μm was obtained from archival ssues of OSCC (Group 1) and normal oral mucosa (Group 2) which were stained for roune Hematoxylin and Eosin and for the expression of CD 105 by immunohistochemistry for the determinaon of micro vessel density. Observaons & Results: We observed significantly increased MVD in poorly differenated OSCC in comparison to moderately differenated OSCC and well differenated OSCC. However, when comparison was made between the well and moderately differenated OSCC, the difference was stascally nonsignificant. Conclusion : There was an increased MVD, in poorly differenated OSCC, which could be used as an addional criterion to histologically grade the tumor.","PeriodicalId":269506,"journal":{"name":"DMIMS Journal of Dental Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130837038","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the similar site of occurrence and the age group of patients, Ameloblastoma and OKC both are indistinguishable clinically and radiographically. It is a coincidence and very rare for these odontogenic lesions to occur simultaneously in the jaw. The co-existence of these lesions histologically have already been termed as hybrid lesions. There are very small number of cases reported in the literature for coexistence of Ameloblastoma and OKC as completely distinct lesions. Here we present a very rare case of the concurrent occurrence of OKC and ameloblastoma in the posterior molar region of the mandible of a 45-year old female.","PeriodicalId":269506,"journal":{"name":"DMIMS Journal of Dental Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115053542","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Iron is meticulously studied in recent years to judge whether they have any modifying effects in the etiology of precancer and cancer. Aim of study was to evaluate levels of iron in the saliva in patients with OSMF. Methods: Study group comprised of 66 patients, out of which 22 cases of clinically diagnosed OSMF patients and 22 cases of betel nut habitual without OSMF and 22 cases of age and sex matched control healthy patients were recruited. Estimation of Iron by Ferrozine method in Saliva was carried out by using Spectrophotometer. The statistical analysis was carried out. Results: Level of iron in saliva was significantly decreased in OSMF patients when compared to betel nut habitual and control group which were statistically significant. Conclusion: The present study, all the cases of OSMF revealed reduction in iron levels which suggests that iron plays an important role in the pathogenesis and progression of OSM. In group II (Betel nut habituals without OSMF) patients showed decrease in iron levels which suggest that, betel nut quid with or without tobacco consumption may alter the serum and salivary levels of iron and plays an important role in the advancement of OSMF. Therefore regular monitoring of betel nut habituals should also be carried out because they are at higher risk of developing OSMF. The present study indicates that saliva also may be used as a potential non-invasive diagnostic tool to evaluate the iron In OSMF patients. Keywords: PMDs , OSMF, Salivary biomarkers, Iron and Saliva.","PeriodicalId":269506,"journal":{"name":"DMIMS Journal of Dental Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125708067","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There have been various studies that have concluded that the cephalometric norms of one ethnic group should not be regarded as normal and should not be generalised to other ethnic groups. Aiding to the need for determining norms for an individual population, we conducted this study in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, aiming to create norms for Schwarz analysis and compare the male and female population of Vidarbha region. Material and methodology: Lateral cephalograms of 100 subjects (50 males and 50 females) were traced and cephalometric measurement for Schwarz analysis were noted for males and females respectively. Results: statistically significant results were obtained and norms were created for the male and female population of Vidarbha.","PeriodicalId":269506,"journal":{"name":"DMIMS Journal of Dental Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132375274","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Millions of people has died due to pandemic up till now and it still continues. Microbes settles all over body superficially on skin as well as mucous membrane and gut. Viruses success is mainly due to their extraordinary adaptability to humans. As viruses cannot survive on its own it needs a living host to survive on. And as they are accountable for broad range of diseases including common cold, influenza, measles, chicken pox, moreover numerous other growing infectious diseases like SARS, MERS and AIDS are originated from viruses. The current pandemic COVID-19 is not just a treat to human health but also it has affected us economically which has resulted in global financial crises. According to the researches if the crises is not been restored it will lead to extreme poverty in more than 60 million people as it hits the lower -income families. This is considered by far the worst economy crises to be faced globally. Shortage of supplies is likes to affect numerous sectors due to unnecessary and over purchase of food. As vaccines are still under trail and maybe it can cure this pandemic and put an end to this deadly virus. But till then we should take all the necessary precautions to stop the spread of this virus by slowing it down.","PeriodicalId":269506,"journal":{"name":"DMIMS Journal of Dental Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132200982","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
