Method: A community based cross-sectional study was conducted on a group of 150 children with the age group of 1-3 years , purpose of the study was explained with a written consent and before starting intraoral examination of the child mothers were interviewed based on a self-designed questionnaire (translated in local language: Marathi) regarding socio-demographic factors, feeding habits of child, oral hygiene practices of child.Intraoral examination was carried out using mouth mirror and WHO probe for assessing “deft” index. For this WHO oral health assessment form 1997 was used. Results: Bottle-fed children, 75% had dmft score >5 while 25% had dmft between 0-5. 88 children who were both breast and bottle-fed, 68% had dmft score >5 while 32% had dmft between 0-5. 0.62% of the children who were breast fed for more than 6 months had dmft score >5 and 38% had score between 0-5.out of 48% who were breast-fed for less than 6 months, 2% had score in between 0-5 and 77% had score >5. Conclusion: Risk of ECC can be reduced by limiting the infat feeding for less than 12 months","PeriodicalId":269506,"journal":{"name":"DMIMS Journal of Dental Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121994461","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Material and method- A total of 14 systemically healthy patients with a mean age of 31.17±7.47 years (range 20 to 45 years) with missing teeth in posterior region of maxilla and having insufficient bone were selected. All the selected patients were treated by Maxillary sinus floor augmentation procedure by lateral approach using Demineralized Freeze Dried Bone Allograft (DFDBA) irradiated bone with simultaneous two stage implant placement. After 4-6 months second surgery was carried out to expose the implant for placement of abutment and restored using metal ceramic restoration. Clinical measurements were recorded around each implants, which includes modified plaque index (MPI), modified bleeding index (MBI). probing measurements and clinical implant mobility. All these measurements were recorded at 3 months after early loading of implants. Panoramic radiographs and Digital Volume Tomography Scan were carried out to measure the bone height pre-operatively and 6 months post-operatively. Result- At baseline the mean FMPBI score was 0.33±0.018 and at 6 months it was 0.22±0.014 with a significant reduction of mean FMPBI by 0.10±0.019 score at 6 months compared to baseline value.At baseline, the mean residual bone height was 7.096±2.11mm with a range of 2.70 mm to 10.98 mm. At 6 months post-surgery, the mean bone height between the sinus floor and the alveolar crest at 6 months was 16.58±1.61 mm with a range of 13.02 mm to 18.56 mm resulting in mean gain of bone height of 9.60±2.35(0.000,S) with a range of 4.20mm to 12.97mm. Conclusion- Authors concluded that lateral maxillary sinus augmentation procedure using Demineralized Freeze Dried Bone Allograft with simultaneous implant placement resulted in significant gain in mean bone height of 9.60 mm. Two stage loading implant protocol with simultaneous lateral sinus augmentation procedure resulted in 100% survival rate of implants. Clinical and radiographic data after 3 months of loading showed healthy peri-implant tissue with minimal marginal bone resorption around implants.","PeriodicalId":269506,"journal":{"name":"DMIMS Journal of Dental Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126462322","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
