The school-based curriculum, as an important supplement to high school teaching, plays a key role in improving the English core competency of high school students. Based on this, this paper firstly analyzes the background of Chinese high school English teaching under core competency and the significance of developing a school-based curriculum for high school English; secondly, effective development strategies will be proposed based on the basic ideas of high school English school-based curriculum design. It is hoped that the analysis in this paper will provide a reference for promoting the development and practice of a school-based curriculum for high school English in China.","PeriodicalId":266719,"journal":{"name":"IRA International Journal of Education and Multidisciplinary Studies","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129296986","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This book being regarded as the pioneer work of the post-modernism and masterpiece of black humour, relevant research serves to figure out its post-modern features from uncertainty, entropy, linguistic games to narrative traps. The present study is concerned about politics, history, law, religion, race, and racial oppression contained in the novel, as well as the author’s innovation of the quest mode, while ignoring how the heroine Oedipa strove to construct her subjectivity during her quest for the secret of Tristero System. This paper will focus on gender writing in The Crying of Lot 49 with the assistance of feminist criticism, Jacques Lacan’s psychological analysis as well as the concept of cultural hegemony by Antonio Gramsci, which together point out that the main achievement of Oedipa’s seemingly absurd quest is to break away from the constraints of patriarchy and gradually construct her own subjectivity as a woman.","PeriodicalId":266719,"journal":{"name":"IRA International Journal of Education and Multidisciplinary Studies","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121660550","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Frontline teachers, as implementers and promoters of the “double reduction” policy, innovate teaching methods from the mode of the layered teaching, homework management mechanism, language environment and assessment ways through interpreting the “double reduction” policy and combining it with the existing problems in junior high school English classroom. These ways ensure that students learn well in class and achieve the goal of reducing excessive academic burdens on students and increasing teaching efficiency for teachers.","PeriodicalId":266719,"journal":{"name":"IRA International Journal of Education and Multidisciplinary Studies","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115209207","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The average writing score of students increased by 1.67 points, with an obvious improvement effect. Second, students' writing confidence, chunk writing awareness and writing methods have also been greatly improved. 3. The number of language chunks written by students increased on the second test, but decreased on the third test. According to the author's interview on students' familiarity with writing topics, students think that familiar writing topics make them more able to express their ideas.","PeriodicalId":266719,"journal":{"name":"IRA International Journal of Education and Multidisciplinary Studies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129319965","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditional writing teaching focuses too much on the results of writing and neglects the process of reflection and summary after writing. Recent changes to the English college entrance examination have focused on flexibility and innovation in writing, and new questions such as reading followed by writing have appeared one after another in the provincial entrance examination. Portfolio assessment has been used as one of the main tools of formative assessment and has been used in foreign language writing teaching at home and abroad. It has also been a guiding factor for the reforms in the new English writing teaching in high school. The purpose of this paper is to review & analyse the research on the use of portfolio assessment in foreign language writing by scholars at home and abroad through literature collection and see what the current situation is in China and give new ideas for future research on the use of portfolio assessment in high school foreign language writing.","PeriodicalId":266719,"journal":{"name":"IRA International Journal of Education and Multidisciplinary Studies","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128454005","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
