The matrix converter is controlled using a space vector modulation algorithm. Stability issues related to the operation of the WECS connected to the grid using a matrix converter are also discussed in this work. The influence of a synchronous rotating filter in the dynamic of the proposed WECS is analysed. A Model Reference Adaptive System (MRAS) observer for sensorless control of the proposed WECS is used in this work. Using the speed estimated by the MRAS observer the electrical torque of the induction generator is regulated in order to drive the WECS to the operating point where the aerodynamic efficiency is maximized. Used to reduce conducted perturbations, common mode filters can be responsible of the incompliance to radiated standards. Magnetic field computation of common mode filters allows defining their radiated perturbation level during the definition. This allows earning time considering the design process of the whole system (static converter-filter-driver) is an important gain of time. An original modeling method is presented. The common mode inductance is modeled using finite element method. The layout is modeled using partial element equivalent circuit (PEEC) method. Then, the PEEC model is imported into the finite element one. The paper presents the configuration and operation of fuel cell system along with the circuit model for a proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell that can be used to design and analyze fuel-cell power system. Using this common-source CSI, the number of gate drive power supplies can dramatically be reduced by using only a single power supply instead of a conventional bootstrap circuit or isolated power supplies. As a result, it can eliminate expensive transformers and capacitors in the drive circuits of the switching devices. In addition, the circuit can be operated at a higher switching frequency and a higher voltage because of its common-source topology. Design and operation principle of this new circuit were tested and analyzed using computer simulations. Finally, effectiveness of the proposed topology was experimentally verified by using a laboratory prototype set up. The motor drive itself produces the load torque, noises and the parameter variations using a digital signal processing software. Therefore, the electric drive is virtually perturbed, while its behavior is similar to that of the really perturbed drive. The focus of this paper is the implementation of a real time embedded face detection system while relying on high level description language such as SystemC. Recently, the boosting based object detection algorithms proposed by have gained a lot of attention and are considered as the fastest accurate object detection algorithms today. However, the embedded implementation of such algorithms into hardware is still a challenge, since these algorithms are heavily based on memory access. We built a parallel implementation that exploits the parallelism and the pipelining in these algorithms. We show that, using a SystemC description model paired with a mainstream automatic synthesis tool, can lead to an efficient hardware implementation. We also display some of the tradeoffs and considerations, for this implementation to be effective. This implementation proves capable of increasing the speed of the detector as well as bringing regularity in time consuming. The power exchange process between the cells of the converter and the grid is analyzed. Based on this analysis and on the power converter model the stages of the controller design process are shown. A new controller for the cascade power converter is proposed, achieving the regulation of each DC-Link capacitor voltage towards its reference. The proposed controller includes a repetitive scheme in the current tracking loop, providing low current harmonic content and almost unity power factor. The main differential point of the studied structure consists of the connection of neutral wire to negative of DC bus in the inverter, thus avoiding the need of split capacitors at the DC bus. The LC coupling and a particular control of the DC+AC voltage at the coupling C allow the use of low voltage at the DC bus and provide the necessary symmetry of available voltage, in the current controller, during ton and toff. The paper includes a general discussion of the structure, comparing it with the classical L coupled shunt APFs and presents a control method to obtain the necessary voltage symmetry to allow lower DC bus voltages and lower values of coupling L. The paper presents a control method based on time domain techniques, which gives a fast response.
