As personnel specifications have greatest impact on efficiency, they can help us designing work environments for maximizing efficiency. Providing information on multiple input and output factors are a complicated and time consuming procedure. Developing expert system in this situation is hard. This paper proposed a procedure that solved mentioned problem. At first, the integrated approach determining important attributes and then expert system is developed. The integrated approach uses Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Data Mining tools. DEA is used for DMUs efficiency evaluation. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Cross Validation Test Technique (CVTT) are used for precision testing and forecasting and finally DEA is again utilized for identification of attributes importance. ANN is used for determining important attributes and developing expert system. As well, K-means algorithm is used in developing expert system. A Procedure is proposed to developing expert system with mentioned tools and completed rule base. The constructed expert system helps managers to forecast DMUs efficiencies by selected attributes and grouping inferred efficiency. Also, they can assess new situation before happening and compare with present situation. The proposed integrated approach is applied to an actual banking system and its superiorities and advantages are discussed.","PeriodicalId":262939,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115475136","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) is applied for this purpose. After applying different data preprocessing methods, the models are developed. A method for calculating ANFIS performance is also proposed. Due to various seasonal and monthly changes in oil production and difficulties in modeling it with conventional methods, we consider a case study in four countries for oil production estimation. Finally, analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) is conducted for each country to evaluate the most efficient method.","PeriodicalId":262939,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115637824","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

B-spline functions are used as carrier signals with the aim to to reduce harmonic content of the three phase inverter output voltage. This algorithm eliminates the problem of B-spline recursive evaluation with convolution integrals or convolution sums in digital counterpart. The pulse pattern synthesis is made with the help pre-calculated duty cycle expressions. In this way the carrier signals have not to be really synthesized, hence the hardware and the whole inverter control system becomes cheaper, more reliable and affordable. The proposed control algorithm effectiveness is finally verified by means of numerical simulations in different operating condition (e.g. for different values of the amplitude modulation index and for different values of the power factor) of a three phase inverter. Different values for voltage and current total harmonic distortion (THD) are presented comparing the B-spline SPWM control with the classical SPWM control with triangular carrier signal.","PeriodicalId":262939,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124470151","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This fact translates to the requirement of a high.temperature bearingless pump system and/or the elimination of thermal-critical components such as hall sensors. This paper introduces a new method for a hall-sensorless control of a PMSM bearingless pump in its operating range from 0 rpm to 8000 rpm and from zero load to full load. The sensorless operation is performed by three novel control functionalities, namely: a controlled start-up routine, enabling a sure levitation and zero angle setting; an open-loop angle estimation based on stator voltage and stator current measurement and known machine parameters; and an angle synchronization establishing a robust operation of the pump in the whole operating range even for a large machine parameter drift. Especially, considering the temperature degrading of the permanent magnet flux density, the novel robust control concept is of great benefit for bearingless pump systems employed in high temperature applications.","PeriodicalId":262939,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121275261","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the instability effect of the negative incremental resistance phenomena of CPLs, several criteria have been investigated to ensure system stability in the presence of large amount of CPLs. With an increasing share of CPLs, the same negative incremental resistance phenomena can be the source of instability in AC distribution systems, especially in the event of voltage disturbances. The literature on AC systems has not yet addressed this problem in a comprehensive way, and more research effort will be required around the topic. This paper investigates the effect of the negative incremental resistance phenomena in AC distribution systems with large share of CPLs, and proposes an approach for mitigation of instability in presence of large signal disturbances based on injection of reactive current by active rectifiers interfacing the CPLs. Results from a simulation study with Matlab suggest how stability can be improved by reactive compensation and that distributed injection of reactive current by the CPLs might be more effective than a centralized compensation by a STATCOM.","PeriodicalId":262939,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics","volume":"09 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127313658","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Through coil coupling induction, contactless power transmission system is able to supply power to the secondary side with high safety and low repair rate features. However, this paper discusses PCB (Printed Circuit Board) and a spiral-type induction coil used as a coupling induction device for the contactless charging system. With the design proposed in this paper, the size of regular counting induction devices can be greatly reduced. By changing the geometric shape and location of coupling coil, the relationship and changing conditions of respective parameters and coupling coefficients can be obtained and analyzed to serve as references for future designs. Therefore, in conjunction with theoretic and actual design guidelines, sequential studies will be conducted. Finally, contactless mobile phone charger with rated 4.2V, 800 mA is completed to validate its function.","PeriodicalId":262939,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics","volume":"211 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123264488","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, we propose a new iterative algorithm for image enhancement based on analysis on embedded surfaces of images. In our method, scaled surface area and the surface volume are proposed and used to reconstruct the image iteratively for contrast enhancement, and the illumination of the reconstructed image can also be adjusted simultaneously. On the other hand, the most common methods for measuring the quality of enhanced images mean square error (MSE) or peak signal-to-noise-ratio (PSNR) have been recognized as inadequate measures because they do not evaluate the result in the way that the human vision system does. This paper also presents a new framework for evaluating image enhancement using both objective and subjective measures. This framework can also be used for other image quality evaluations such as denoising evaluation. We compare our enhancement method with some well-known enhancement algorithms, including wavelet and curvelet methods, using the new evaluation framework. The results show that our method gives better performance in most objective and subjective criteria than the conventional methods.","PeriodicalId":262939,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115215373","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
