It uses a wave guide, operated below his cut off frequency to eliminate the far field of the antenna. Using two measurements (with and without Wheeler Cap) it is possible to calculate the radiation efficiency. In this paper the impact of different shapes, material and the minimum heights of the Wheeler Cap are investigated. The measurement of radiation efficiency is not precise but the ease of measurement makes the method highly attractive. Thin films were performed by high energy reactive magnetron sputtering process. During deposition, particles were sputtered from metallic Ti and Ti-Tb targets in oxygen reactive plasma. The properties of thin films were characterized by several methods. Influence of Tb-dopant on the structure and diversification of the surface was investigated by X-ray Diffraction and Atomic Force Microscopy, respectively. Optical properties of manufactured films, especially transparency level and adsorption edge, were determined based on optical transmission measurements. Photocatalytic activity of TiO2:Tb thin films was determined based on phenol decomposition reactions under UV-Vis light exposure. The rate of phenol decomposition was determined based on absorption measurements. The results have shown that all manufactured films were nanocrystalline and photocatalytically active. Doping with terbium meaningfully increased the activity of as-deposited films. In this paper dependences between structure type of the TiO2-matrix, crystallites size, roughness of the thin film surface and photocatalytic activity of TiO2:Tb thin films are described. Also a lithography with use AFM systems is summarized. In the work the reconstruction of the pattern created by nanoscratching and lift-off technique is show and discussed. The resolution of created structures for certain parameters of nanoscratching was also defined. In order to connect the installed fiber optic backbone with remote wireless base stations at those frequencies full optical access networks are expected to play a key role for future system architectures. This Radio-over-Fiber-Systems combining optical and wireless access are one of the most dynamic topics in current research on broadband communications. The paper will introduce into the field of Radio over Fiber systems, analysing the underlying principles on system level. The main problems arising from the characteristic of the fiber-optic link are evaluated in terms of their effect on the system performance. Devices sensed on harmful substances such as: toxic and combustible gases or volatile organic compounds vapours are included. Various constructions of sensors and methods of their fabrication are compared. Sensing properties of semiconducting metal oxides 1D structures have also been discussed. Technological issues of fabricated devices with electrospun ZnO nanofibers using a standard microelectronic technology especially photolithography and lift-off process was shown. A crucial part of these links is the broadband optical receiver transforming the signal from high optical to millimeter-wave frequencies at each base station. A new integrated optical receiver chip with an integrated antenna structure supporting more than 100GHz bandwidth is available. To be compatible to standard millimeter-wave components based on hollow metal waveguide structures an efficient coupling solution from the chip to waveguide has to be designed. For the performance of this element the impedance matching to the integrated photo diode is the dominating task. Therefore models of the chip structure with different complexity and computational effort were created and numerically simulated using the Method of Moments and compared with analytical models and empirical results. Since the computational effort of the whole structure is high, it is of interest to what detail the structure has to be modeled for an efficient design process of a coupling solution to a hollow metal waveguide. TiO2 nanoparticles were dried and then annealed at 120 °C for 2 h and used without any other treatments for characterization and photocatalytic measurements. Characterizations of nano titania powders were carried out with several experimental techniques such as Thermal Analysis (DSC/TG), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope and Energy Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM/EDX), UV-Vis spectrophotometry, and Raman spectroscopy.
