Moreover, by using second generation WT and lifting scheme, even better performance has been obtained. Besides the WT, empirical mode decomposition (EMD) is another efficient noise reduction technique, which enables adaptive decomposition based only on signal characteristics. Both WT and EMD denoising concepts find place in pre-processing of phonocardiograms (PCGs). Although these techniques are very effective in denoising, their inappropriate use can cause unwanted signal distortion. In this paper, we analyzed both denoising techniques and tested their influence to the degradation of PCGs, particularly regarding to some diagnostically relevant cardiac events, such as the first and second heart sound (S1 and S2) and clicks. It was shown that the morphology of S1, S2, and even the existence of subtle features (clicks) within the PCG, depend on the denoising method. While the classifier is a typical neural one, it has the role of completing the neural retina with the equivalent of the upper layers of neurons in the nervous system of mammals. Without this classification stage, the proper use of the retina is imperfect, hence the significance of reporting on it. The performance of the classifier is discussed in relation to the application requirements. The newly proposed two-thresholds embedding capacity control splits the image into two parts and marks them with consecutive threshold values. Intermediate capacity values between the ones provided by the thresholds are obtained by varying the ratio between the two parts. The method ensures a fine control of the capacity without introducing artifacts. This paper proposes a lower distortion version of the two-thresholds embedding reversible watermarking scheme. Two procedures are proposed for the signature extraction. Both of them are dedicated to documents using the EU logo but other logos could be used in the same manner. The signature - a 200 bits string - is invariant at translations and scaling and, due to the employed distance, it is obtained invariance at rotations. The signatures are compared by considering the minimum of Pearson distance, calculated for all circular shifts. The approach accuracy is evaluated in view of document authencation by means of ROC curve and EER. The success of Internet of Things (IoT) will not so much depend on the development of new technologies, but rather on connecting and integrating existing resources. The paper proposes a novel architecture that enables objects to exchange information through the Internet to achieve nonintrusive behavior and customized services based on an open source cloud platform. To achieve this goal, the information driven interactions are done not only in a peer to peer method, but also via advanced cloud services. The result is a generic platform where devices, systems and services will take part in a heterogeneous and decentralized architecture. We demonstrate that IoT is all about interoperability, from connected cloud computing using RFID, NFC, M2M and sensor technology to digital content and context-aware services. By observing the structure of 2PPM transmitted signal, a redundancy is found at physical level and is used at the logical decisional level. Thus, for the detection part based on the values at the integrators outputs, a supplementary analysis of a pairs of adjacent integration intervals belonging to subsequent frames is proposed.
