Abstract
Printed documents authentication by print signature is reconsidered under two constraints: preservation of document layout and less expensive imaging devices. Two procedures are proposed for the signature extraction. Both of them are dedicated to documents using the EU logo but other logos could be used in the same manner. The signature - a 200 bits string - is invariant at translations and scaling and, due to the employed distance, it is obtained invariance at rotations. The signatures are compared by considering the minimum of Pearson distance, calculated for all circular shifts. The approach accuracy is evaluated in view of document authencation by means of ROC curve and EER. Considerations regarding the procedures complexity are done.
