A model of wideband polarized seismic wavefield that are received by linear array of three component sensors is used as framework for implementing the proposed algorithm. This algorithm explicitly exploits the Eigen-structure of reduced dimensional spectral covariance matrix. The blind separation of first primary wave is achieved by projecting the first eigenvector that has the highest eigenvalue of this covariance matrix on the long data vector that contains information on all frequencies and all components interactions of the multicomponent seismic wave-field. In addition, the experimental results have shown that the proposed algorithm outperforms the conventional separation technique in terms of accuracy and complexity.","PeriodicalId":256285,"journal":{"name":"IEEE EUROCON 2009","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121666024","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is possible to have different quality for the same service under same mobile network conditions in the core and wireless part. Therefore, mobile operators need systems for testing and measurements of end-to-end quality of service. In this paper we present our developed system for service quality testing, which is created for testing the user perceived quality of services in mobile cellular networks. The system is consisted of distributed testing stations over the mobile network coverage area and centralized management and processing nodes, which provide collection, storage and statistical processing of data regarding the quality of service parameters for mobile data services. The system provides objective end-to-end quality of service information in real-time, which is essential to provide services with desired quality to the end users.","PeriodicalId":256285,"journal":{"name":"IEEE EUROCON 2009","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121841919","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The multiplier/divider circuit is designed using bulk-driven subthreshold- operated MOS transistors in order to reduce the circuit complexity and to respond, also, to the low-power requirements. The circuit output current is independent on process parameters. A new method for reducing the approximation error caused by a limited expansion in Taylor series of the exponential function will be presented, having the advantage of obtaining a very good frequency response as a result of the operation in saturation of MOS transistors. The MOS implementation of the squaring function based on a new principle using the arithmetic mean of the input potentials, as well as an original realization of the Euclidean distance function independent on technological parameters will be further described.","PeriodicalId":256285,"journal":{"name":"IEEE EUROCON 2009","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123792192","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore congestion management became a vital issue within the power system operation, under deregulated environment and can be a major hurdle to trade of electricity if not properly implemented. It ensures the non-violation of operating limits. The first part of the paper deals with the current congestion management mechanisms within the deregulated power market. A synthesis of the congestion management methods and mechanisms involved has been effectuated. Within the second part of the paper a case study for the Western and South Western part of the power system of Romania is presented. Several operating regimes that are leading to special situations are pointed-out, followed by appropriate conclusion.","PeriodicalId":256285,"journal":{"name":"IEEE EUROCON 2009","volume":"104 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122539536","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The basic techniques used in fMRI data analysis were founded on a linear time-invariant system depicted with the impulse response function (HDR). However, there are evidences which accept nonlinear relations between the measured BOLD response and the task, especially in the case of rapid stimulation. Physiological models are replaced with previous impulse response function and use information based on physiological concept. In this paper, balloon model parameters as a physiological model were extracted using particle swarm optimization and then difference between obtained BOLD response from these parameters and measured signal from fMRI, were used to detect the active region.","PeriodicalId":256285,"journal":{"name":"IEEE EUROCON 2009","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122705876","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The important point for this method is how fast and efficient it is to learn a new problem. In this paper, we present a new approach to increase the efficiency of the reinforcement learning method with the great help of a predictive model of the problem's environment called temporal-difference network along with observation. This TD network is nourished with the knowledge extracted from another problem with the same task using TD network. First a reinforcement-learning agent tries to learn its environment for the task of wall following. After that we train temporal-difference network (TDN) with intervening observation in the brain of the agent in order to gain a predictive model of the environment. Later the most promising sequences of action-observation of the given environment will be extracted as knowledge to strengthen the reinforcement learning problem in a new environment. Finally this knowledge helps the reinforcement procedure to produce more efficient results.","PeriodicalId":256285,"journal":{"name":"IEEE EUROCON 2009","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131755949","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
