This data will be transmitted to a computer/laptop and will be processed later. The data obtained will be used in the future to control a robotic arm remotely in real time. This prototype can be used in various industrial fields, for example, the automotive industry, the assembly industry, the chemical industry, the defense industry. In order to highlight the movement of arm, the sensitive element used is of the resistive band type, which has the advantage of a low cost. This sensor is a variable resistor whose value decreases/increases when it is bent. The data are processed by an amplification circuit and are collected through an Arduino board that also communicates with a computer system for future processing. The obtained results highlight the viability of the adopted solution and open perspectives for development and improvement of equipment developed.","PeriodicalId":250783,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical And Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128785493","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditional using only the degree of equivalence of a National Metrology Institute standard with corresponding expanded uncertainty without any other characteristics for evaluating of calibration or measurement capabilities. The paper presents a proposed alternative evaluation of the results of key comparisons, which simplifies the analysis of National Metrology Institute calibration services. It envisages the use as a criterion of consistency of the obtained results of key comparisons of the En index to analyze of the degree of equivalence of National Metrology Institute standard and its expanded uncertainty. The practical application of the alternative evaluation for key comparison results for electrical capacitance standards is considered. This contributes to a more streamlined calibration of working standards of accredited laboratories for specific purposes.","PeriodicalId":250783,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical And Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122583711","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Over the last few years, it has been noticed an increased deployment of grid-connected residential rooftop photovoltaic systems, especially due to their significant cost reduction. A valuable solution for solving the problem of temporal mismatch between the electricity generated by the photovoltaic system and electricity demand is the energy storage system. This paper aims to investigate the feasibility of gridconnected residential rooftop photovoltaics combined with battery energy storage system for a household in Romania taking into account different electricity tariffs. The results pointed out how the system’s profitability is affected by the time of use electricity tariffs and the flat tariffs applied on Romanian residential customers that do not take into consideration the time of use.","PeriodicalId":250783,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical And Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122603943","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Employment opportunities for graduates in the technical field, are constantly increasing due to a growth in the number, dimensions, and turnover of multinational companies active in research and manufacturing in Romania. Moreover, the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), especially in the IT field determined a high demand for graduates of technical study programs. The aim of the study is to explore the employment trajectory of electrical engineering graduates. The sample comprised 214 persons, graduates of the following specializations: Electro mechanic and Economical Engineering in Electric, Electronic and Energetic specializations. The data were analyzed considering the alumni employability in the period 2014-2019. Findings reveal that approximatively half of the engineers work in jobs related to their specialization, and very few of them chose to be entrepreneurs, with two exceptions, not in the field of their studies.","PeriodicalId":250783,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical And Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127002482","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, this research proposes the creation of a portable device (EXPILART device or EDEV) that can be used to measure exposure to artificial lighting and can communicate wireless with a cloud app. This paper presents an initial prototype of EDEV which is based on high performance system on a chip including a microcontroller and wireless module and light and other sensors. The proposed methodology reduces the complexity of EDEV, while allowing precise results to be obtained. EDEV will have a high level of integration and high autonomy by using miniaturized and low power components.","PeriodicalId":250783,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical And Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124293440","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Additional to power losses, the voltage deviation minimization represents another aspect of interest in solving the optimal reactive power flow problem. Hence, the ORPD problem can be approached as a complex multi-objective optimization problem. Incorporating nonlinear functions, both continuous and discrete variables and numerous constraints, this problem requires highly performant computation methods for an efficient calculation of the optimal solution. In this regard, a multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) model is applied in this paper, in order to determine the ideal settings of distributed generators, transformers and capacitor banks for the proper operation of a distribution electrical system, in terms of active power losses and voltage profiles.","PeriodicalId":250783,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical And Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129129381","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Real-time evaluation of the noise power in the channel under such conditions is essential. This paper aims to implement an automated system for real-time measurement of noise in the HF range. It is composed of two Software Defined Radio (SDR) synchronized receivers and two orthogonal Inverted Vee antennas. Testing the system demonstrates its ability to distinguish between noise and signals generated as a result of human activity. Preliminary results of measurements performed in an urban location are comparable to other measurements performed and to ITU-R Recommendations P.372 examples.","PeriodicalId":250783,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical And Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130280778","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
