However, the integration of new concepts in distribution networks, such as microgrids, distributed generation, energy storage etc., introduces various challenges regarding the energy management procedures. This paper proposes an optimal coordination model of multiple microgrids in smart distribution networks, based on a two-level optimization scheme. The upper-level of the proposed model optimizes the distribution network operation, while the economic dispatch is calculated in each microgrid in the lower-level of the methodology. Two scheduling modes are analyzed for the microgrids operation: independent grid-connected scheduling and coordinated scheduling mode. The challenges and opportunities from engineering education make from the virtual lab a bridge to Industry 4.0 paradigms, reaching superior modelling and simulation techniques. Such a short circuit power can affect the components of the electrical network. Therefore, an effective solution is required to protect them against electrodynamic and thermal forces generated by the high value of the short-circuit current. A solution that can be used in medium voltage networks is represented by the solid-state current limiter. This paper highlights the solid-state current limiter effects on an electrical network. The perspective of Industry 4.0 imposes an effective and efficient approach for production in general and then, specific to this application, to implement the control algorithm able to deliver to robot the deliberatively and reactively behaviour. An important tool to achieve these goals is virtualization of the prototype and his simulation in a 3D virtual environment.This paper presents a simplified method of modelling and kinematics simulation in Simscape Multibody™, taking an omnidirectional mobile robot with advantages related to simulation time. The necessary steps to develop inverse kinematics in robots and global reference frame, for specific omnidirectional mobile robot, are depicted in the paper using bottom-up approach with matrix transformation. The 3D modelling process starts from the CAD design, which is then transferred into a Simscape Multibody™ model in order to study the kinematic and dynamic characteristics. The laboratory work is dedicated for the study of the oscilloscope. It uses three instruments connected via Universal Serial Bus to a computer. The system can be controlled remotely by students located at home or in dormitories, using a web browser. The instruments used in this application are an arbitrary function generator, a digital storage oscilloscope and a digital multimeter. A virtual instrument has been created in the graphical programming environment LabVIEW. This kind of application can be used with any interfaceable instrument and it can be adapted for any remote laboratories. Students can access the laboratory after providing the username and the password into the interface and after, they can follow all the steps to complet the lab. The plasma activated water can be successfully used in agricultural applications due to the fact the generation technology is environmentally friendly and it contributes to the reduction and minimization of pesticides or fertilizers currently required in the plant cultivation process. This work is focused on the analysis of the influence of different parameters on the formation of hydrogen peroxide and energy efficiency of two non-thermal plasma reactors for plasma-activated water generation: a T-shaped reactor and an I-shaped reactor. For the two types of reactors, it was also considered the influence of the polarity of the DC pulse power supply for different input parameters such the frequency (60, 150, 250 Hz), gas flow rate (1 and 2 L/min Ar) and water flow rate (5, 10, 15 and 20 mL/min).
