Abstract
this paper presents a comparative FEM analysis of two types of permanent magnet generators with fractional slots. The first one, fractional slot designed, is with three phases, 16 magnets, and 15 slots (3PMSG), and the second one, with the same stator but different winding connection, for five phases, but with a different number of rotor magnets, 18 magnets, and 15 slots (5PMSG).
