Those characteristics refer to the torque, the power required at the wheels, the friction force, the air resistance force and others. Based on these characteristics a traction system that meets the requirements can be chosen. The study was performed on a prototype of an electric vehicle, Vector Model Zero. This paper highlights the results obtained using two software programs, namely Simcenter AMESIM and MatLAB Simulink, known throughout the academic world. The results provided by these software programs are compared at the end of this paper in order to verify their accuracy.","PeriodicalId":250783,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical And Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125749496","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Often, they are applied for OP with a reasonable number of parameters. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the capability of NI algorithms to solve high-dimensional OP. For this evaluation, a clustering problem was chosen. The Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Cuckoo Search (CSA) and Black Hole (BHA) algorithms were adapted by modifying the new individual’s initialization sequence. The three algorithms were chosen based on the fact that PSO and CSA are among the most performing, and BHA is considered to be a simplified version of PSO. The results obtained by applying the usual and the modified versions of the three NI algorithms are compared and the performances are significantly better in the second case.","PeriodicalId":250783,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical And Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126298928","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As it is known, the transport sector is the most polluting one in the world, and through the top alternatives is the electrification of road transport. Thus, the purpose of this study is to assess the potential environmental impacts of vehicle’s manufacturing phase by using life cycle assessment from the design stage. By conducting a life cycle analysis, it is desired to find a better environmental performance of cars ‘production. The focus being on the use of new materials or renewable energy sources. The main purpose of the study involves a comparative environmental analysis of electric traction motors. For this study have been considered two types of motors: synchronous motor and permanent magnet synchronous motor. The electric traction machines will be analyzed using a software specialized in life cycle assessment studies. By the end of the study it will be possible to show which of the two machines has a negative influence on the environment, including resource depletion, eco-toxicity, climate change, etc.","PeriodicalId":250783,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical And Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127353882","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The blood pressure is estimated from mean value of about 30 durations between P peaks of PPG signals and corresponding R peaks of ECG signal, known as pulse arrival time (PAT), obtained from about 30 seconds synchronous EGG and PPG recording. We found a very good correlation between the PAT average value and systolic blood pressure (SBP), but also promising results between the PAT average value and diastolic blood pressure (DBP). The differences between the values of BP, estimate by this method considering the PAT1 average values and the reference values of BP, determined with an electronic device destined for this scope, are smaller than 5 mmHg, which is a permitted limit. Finally based on ECG and on PPG recording for a working week, we determine BP and also we made a study of the HRV parameters.","PeriodicalId":250783,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical And Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114316113","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They are students born in the age of internet, who grew up with technology and information accessible at one click of the mouse. At the same time, they pose considerable challenges to current instructional methods which seem to no longer engage students in learning. The article aimed to bring together data from a range of articles to define Z generation students, in the context of engineering educational offers and employers’ expectations. The study was designed as an analysis of relevant research literature on Z generation characteristics, educational methods used in engineering and employers’ expectations. Results show Z generation students lack soft skills, including communication and information seeking abilities. Z generation students are entrepreneurial, have shorter attention spans, difficulties in understanding the labor market and a strong desire for customized curricula and hands-on approaches. Our conclusions suggest engineering teaching methods should focus more on active learning and problem-based learning techniques, while also integrating entrepreneurship to much higher extents in the course curricula.","PeriodicalId":250783,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical And Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122819457","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
