These stakeholders make decisions about software/product license structure and billing system of services they are involved in. Service computing environment can be regarded as being provided and maintained as a synthesis of all these individual services. However, to make this service computing environment a sustainable one, validity of billing structure and fairness of cost burden among users need to be satisfactory from the users' perspective. The purpose of this study is to clarify, from a gaming experiment on the Internet, how users using a service computing environment will react to cost burden rules of certain services. In the experiment, highly public service operation model such as Language Grid was assumed and user behavior was investigated by combining incentive effect, its nature as a social investment and its nature as a Donationware where the payment of compensation for use is left to the user's judgement. As a result, it was clarified that users' behavior had a certain pattern with regards to interest and passivity towards donation and investment.","PeriodicalId":244911,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Culture and Computing (Culture and Computing)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116719661","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we focus on impressions of sightseeing spots as an important factor in improving tourist satisfaction. Many studies have analyzed the relationship between tourists' impressions of a sightseeing area and their overall evaluation of that area, but few studies have focused on the tourists' first impressions. We analyzed the tourists' first impressions of each sightseeing spot in the area and investigated the relationship between these first impressions and the tourists' overall evaluations of each spot. Our results showed that first impressions contributed to the tourists' satisfaction and increased the tourists' motivation to revisit. We also discovered that first impressions could be significantly changed by altering the way in which tourists navigate between sightseeing spots and the way in which spots are combined.","PeriodicalId":244911,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Culture and Computing (Culture and Computing)","volume":"166 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132898674","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to play 'shikokin', a rolled music score is required. It is however difficult to flexibly modify the score, once the score is made. To solve this problem, we reproduce sounds for 'shikokin' by a concatenative synthesis. By utilizing the proposed method, it is possible to easily simulate sounds of 'shikokin' before making the score. We also confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed method by an objective experiment with F0 and a subjective experiment based on Scheffe method.","PeriodicalId":244911,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Culture and Computing (Culture and Computing)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115189373","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many people usually write article (diary/essay/ etc.) on their daily experiences as UGC (User-Generated Content) through social media. Among them there may be certain situation of miscommunication caused by cultural gaps. Using text corpus of such experiences, it seems to be possible to extract useful knowledge that would help alleviate misunderstanding each other. From this viewpoint related research issues will be mentioned as exciting challenges in the near future.","PeriodicalId":244911,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Culture and Computing (Culture and Computing)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128509581","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In contrast, the usage of the \"body trunk\" has remained implicitly. And this circumstances is same in the research field. We set the aim of this research to clarify the Structure of the movements observed in the body trunk area by using the motion-capturing system, analyzing the difference between the expert and beginners. As a result, we see the different use of the body trunk between experts and beginners. Extremely advanced usage of ribs to improve performance were characterized by experts.","PeriodicalId":244911,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Culture and Computing (Culture and Computing)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130485229","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our simulation is an interactive system powered by a game engine that gives the user a first-person perspective of the streetscape of Fujisawa-shuku, a post-station town that was situated on the former Tokaido road during the late Edo period. To recreate the town, we designed period buildings and urban facilities, referencing Ukiyo-e (woodblock print during the Edo period) and old documents stored in Fujisawa City's archive to inform our process. Further, in order to include dynamic spatial element that could capture users' attention, we created non-player characters that walk around the town and speak lines about characteristic points of the old street. The proposed system is currently on permanent exhibition at the Fujisawa-shuku Intersection Hall, and it is widely accessible to the public.","PeriodicalId":244911,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Culture and Computing (Culture and Computing)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121323224","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To realize such a framework, it is necessary to study the following: (1) estimation of the emotion that is expressed when performing the creative work and (2) adaptive recommendations based on those emotion estimates. In this study, we performed a Laban Movement Analysis to show how emotions are expressed through movement when performing a creative work. The results show that each emotion was expressed through unique movement features for quantities such as Time, Weight, and Space. We confirmed that the features corresponding to each emotion differed between individuals. This suggests that, in emotional expression, the features include information on personal preference and behavioral propensity.","PeriodicalId":244911,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Culture and Computing (Culture and Computing)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115838995","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The intangible cultural heritages subject to this research are Japanese traditional performing arts, folk performing arts, and dance from all over the world. The human motion is measured by MOCAP systems, and human motion data, CG characters, CG scenes are stored as an asset in the database. We can restore intangible cultural heritage from these archive data by using CG and VR technology. In order for many people to use intangible cultural heritage reproduced by CG and VR technology, we developed a system for network transmission of human motions to multiple locations in the world. This system uses real-time motion capture technology, real-time network transmission technology, real-time rendering technology. Users can experience our content of intangible cultural heritage.","PeriodicalId":244911,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Culture and Computing (Culture and Computing)","volume":"138 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132218877","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We demonstrate the sketch drawing system guided by shadow sketches from a sketch database. When a user draws a sketch query, our system calculates the similarity between the query and the database sketches, predicts the user's intention, and offers sketch images in the form of guiding shadows on the canvas. With our system, unskillful drawers can deliver their intentions and meanings effectively; thus, the system is expected to be utilized in various retrieval systems, such as digital libraries.","PeriodicalId":244911,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Culture and Computing (Culture and Computing)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130239892","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
