Taking account of the specific nature of individual regions is important for the management of the country as a whole and of its particular regions. Existing disparities in the economic development may lead to many negative phenomena, such as internal migration or regional marginalization. Excessive price and income inequalities may weaken economic growth throughout the country. It is important for the coherence of the whole country that the disparities between regions are not too big. The study determines the consequences of price differentiation for regional development in Poland. The analysis was conducted using the coefficient of variation, correlation coefficient, regression coefficient and medium pace. The regions differ in terms of development, dynamic growth and wages. There are direct and indirect effects of international connections. This article verifies the hypothesis about the dominant influence of direct connections on the Polish and German economies. The article examines the usefulness of tests for linear and nonlinear causalities and cospectral analysis in determining the direction of economic flows. The research results confirm the high level of synchronization of business activities between Poland and Germany. {"title":"Polityka rolna UE a zrównoważony rozwój rolnictwa w regionie wielkopolskim","authors":"Katarzyna Smędzik-Ambroży","doi":"10.14595/PES/04/020","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.14595/PES/04/020","url":null,"abstract":"The aim of this study is to determine the impact of instruments of the common agricultural policy (CAP) on the sustainable development of agriculture in areas with different resource conditions in the Wielkopolska region. The article hypothesizes that farmers from areas with favourable agricultural resource conditions more often obtained EU funds for pro-effective actions between 2004 and 2012 than farmers from areas with worse agricultural resource conditions. However, farmers from areas with worse agricultural resource conditions obtained more funds from the EU for environmental actions than farmers from areas with favourable agricultural resource conditions. The study has shown that between 2004 and 2012, farms in areas with favourable agricultural resource conditions in Wielkopolska obtained more funds for pro-effective actions than farmers from districts with worse agricultural resource conditions in Wielkopolska. Differences between the amounts of financial resources obtained by individual farmers in areas with different agricultural resource conditions for environmental activities were insignificant. The paper provides the comparison between the cost of electricity from current commerical technologies and the technologies expected to be commercially available in the next decade. The aim of the paper is to point out that investment in low emission technology is profitable investment, and that reduced CO2 emissions in a country lead to their reduction on the global level. The range of their use is quite wide, they may be an element of price risk management of agricultural production, so called hedging, but also the object of investment of free cash flows and financial speculation. Identifying the process of contract pricing is in this context a key factor for the success of investment activities. The paper attempts to describe fluctuations of ten futures contracts on agricultural products from the US market. Data series come from the years 1975–2016. Series of trading contracts are decomposed in terms of trends and cyclical components. The aim of the study is to assess the possibility of forecasting cyclical components. Harmonic analysis is used for the description and prediction of cyclical components. The effectiveness of predictions has been studied using fractions tests and Pearson correlation coefficient. The results show that the observation of past fluctuations may help to improve investments. The research team tried to analyse the communication process at the level of young groups of students, highlighting issues related to communication between students and communication between students and professors. This analysis was combined with the implementation of a special educational method for economic specializations, i.e. simulation of the economic activity in a company. Previous research into the impact of human capital on income in the countryside has mainly focused on the farming population, ignoring the non-agricultural population. These studies have used sex, region and place of origin as the variables that differentiate the strength of the relationship between human capital and income. Little interest has been devoted to differences between urban and rural areas. This article therefore tries to fill the existing research gap. The study is based on the data of the Social Diagnosis conducted between 2005 and 2015. The authors use log-linear regression to estimate the impact of selected human capital dimensions on incomes obtained. The results indicate that higher returns from human capital endowment are observed among employees living in rural areas although the differences between rural and urban residents have undergone a gradual decrease. The aim is to focus inner logic which makes this concept so difficult to define in practice. The value content of sustainable development is observed in its substantive legal aspects, international administrative practice and in the framework of its national administration, as the contexts of perception. We find that underlying values are related to human development, human rights and equitable social organisation, and the reflection of the knowledge about the connection between human activities, the environment and natural resources and economic growth. Also, sustainable development is a historical category, concerning the need for fairness in the allocation of resources and meeting basic needs for all, but some methods of its global contextualization destabilise fairness. Power generation, transmission and distribution have quite different characteristics of competitiveness than areas such as electricity trading. In the area of power generation, competitive advantage is developed by factors such as: skilful operation in the fuel market and targeted investments affecting the efficiency and effectiveness of equipment. In the area of energy distribution, despite the natural monopoly, some distribution system operators dynamically take over the market share of newly constructed networks.
