The exigency occurring in a relatively fast manner required quick adaptation of methodological practices and learning support solutions. The Web 2.0 became a crucial provider of technological support services, which resulted in the increased prevalence of written and oral culture in education along with that of the creative-participatory effort and activity of students [1]. Our study explores and introduces digital tools and methods providing the most effective and state of the art support to all participants in the digitalized education arena including teachers, students and parents.","PeriodicalId":236400,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Infocommunications (CogInfoCom)","volume":"23 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129438460","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In such a context, research has sought to identify non-biased measures derived from analyses of behavioral data such as voice and language. For this purpose, sentiment analysis techniques were developed, initially based on linguistic characteristics extracted from texts and gradually becoming more and more sophisticated by adding tools for the analyses of voice and visual data (such as facial expressions and movements). This work summarizes the behavioral features accounted for detecting depressive states and sentiment analysis tools developed to extract them from text, audio, and video recordings.","PeriodicalId":236400,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Infocommunications (CogInfoCom)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129886160","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In mid March, the Hungarian Government closed the schools and universities and the classes were held in online form. This faced both students and teachers with unexpected challenges. Survey was conducted among the Computer Science and Information Technologist students of the Eszterhazy Karoly University at the end of the semester. Our survey was focused on the experience, feelings and overall expression of the students regarding to digital education and recent changes. Moreover, the survey contains questions about technical preparation and infrastructure. The responses are processed by well-known statistical data analysis tools. Based on the results, the students enjoyed the digital education and half of them are willing to continue it in the future. In addition, students would prefer to use their own devices during on tutorials which allow some changes in the labor environments. Unfortunately, some students had technical issues which may be caused by the heterogeneous software environment and can be solved with support material. Digital transformation was considered successful and the feedback will be integrated into our online classes.","PeriodicalId":236400,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Infocommunications (CogInfoCom)","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120940306","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our objective is, on the one hand, to organize the library content around selected classical texts. On the other hand, we intend to support text-based autonomous language learning by providing preprocessed English language texts (e.g. the translations of ancient texts, relevant Wikipedia entries about the ancient period etc.) with the necessary dictionary, encyclopedic and background knowledge that might be useful for a foreign language learner to read, understand and memorize the provided English language texts more easily. With respect to the implementation of the 3DVLM, we chose the flexible and cloud-based MaxWhere Seminar System. After giving a short overview about the cultural background and inheritance of the Alexandrian period, we present the main concepts and organization principles of the 3DVLM applied to support both classical education and effective language learning in the virtual 3D environment.","PeriodicalId":236400,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Infocommunications (CogInfoCom)","volume":"104 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116610245","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the emergence of such technologies, several questionnaires have been developed to investigate the factors increasing user's acceptance of virtual agents. While questionnaires provide detailed information about users' preferences, they may not be sufficient for investigating user's internal affective states and impressions during the interaction with virtual agents. Therefore, improving assessment techniques for elders' acceptance of virtual agents is necessary for understanding the impressions they arouse and determining their design accordingly. This paper is a report of a pilot study that benefits from the predictive ability of left frontal alpha activity in the brain on positive affect and approach related motivation, and investigates relationships between user's willingness to interact with virtual agents and left frontal alpha activity in order to gain insights on user's affective and motivational states during the interaction with an agent.","PeriodicalId":236400,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Infocommunications (CogInfoCom)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132695165","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This motivated the design of a new virtual tool in MS Excel for transforming the delivery methodology of the Hydraulics Lab in the UiT. This paper shows the design of such digital educational tool which will be implemented in the next academic year, to enable the Mechanical Engineering students to virtually change different parameters to visualize and understand the movement of the different components of a hydraulic arm, which comprises 3 levers with 4 degrees of freedom (3 of them in the plane). The virtual lab consists of simulating the hydraulic arm as a 2D structure in the digital tool which allows the students to interact with the structure before the attendance to the lab and/or substituting completely the on-site activity when required. This tool represents the possibility for this laboratory to be taken by students located in different places around the globe, fostering collaboration among different institutions across Europe.","PeriodicalId":236400,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Infocommunications (CogInfoCom)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132296020","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Students participate in the education process everywhere they are and all the time. New educational technologies support them in these processes. The current pandemic situation all around the world has added an additional dimension to these issues. Suddenly millions of children and adolescents have been forced into distance learning. How prepared were they for that process, how prepared were the teachers? AR is used effectively in many business sectors such as the engineering, education and training, medicine, logistics and transport, and others. Rescue services is one of the challenging areas where the use of AR technology has extremely high demands for robustness and ease of use. In this paper, we have introduced two augmented reality versions for the FiAAR project developed by Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. The first version is developed for Realmax HMT-1 device with hands free interaction utilizing speech recognition. The second version in turn focuses on hand recognition and it's developed for Realwear Qian device with Leap Motion sensor. Our intention is to show the potential of current AR technologies in demanding use cases.","PeriodicalId":236400,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Infocommunications (CogInfoCom)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123718556","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
