Since these types of studies mostly exist on paper and the world is transitioning into a digital age, it is critical to assess the human perception in a digital application. Therefore, a web-based application was developed using the. NET Core for the frontend, React for the backend and MS SQL for the database. A Model View Controller was used for the connection between the different parts. After the development was completed, 21 people tested with 9 deceptive images to investigate the relationship between the colors in the background and the effect they have on shapes in the foreground. The results show that in the case of the dark colors, the testers answered with darker RGB values and in the case of the light colors, the testers answered with similar RGB values.","PeriodicalId":236400,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Infocommunications (CogInfoCom)","volume":"681 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123047924","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We will present three practical use cases to outline the current maturity level of virtual reality technology for industrial environments. Two of our use cases are virtual reality applications for safety and emergency training scenarios. In addition, one use case is the implementation of a digital twin for off-site safety training. This use case presents a seamless real-time transfer of data between the physical and virtual worlds. Use cases were developed based on the needs of, and in co-operation with, local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The proposed affordable and simple approaches provide virtual safety training solutions that can be utilized by SMEs of different industries.","PeriodicalId":236400,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Infocommunications (CogInfoCom)","volume":"29 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114124739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Often, the content for such experiences is stored in traditional data structures that only allow discrete presentations at seemingly unrelated city locations. In order to provide city goers with an immersive city experience, this paper explores the possibility of combining a semantic ontology data model with augmented reality content in the form of a mobile application called AR-City. We base our work in this paper on a previous pilot study of the proposed combination, as well as AR-City prototype-phase user experience testing and heuristic evaluation. This paper presents our AR-City development journey to date and elaborates on our future intentions. We are convinced of the technical feasibility to combine AR and semantic ontologies and fully understand the value such a combination adds to smart city encounters.","PeriodicalId":236400,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Infocommunications (CogInfoCom)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121810917","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method operates with vehicle dynamic based assumptions since the sensor is mounted to a car-like ground vehicle. The motion estimation results can be used for orientation smoothing, sideslip estimation, or sensor calibration.","PeriodicalId":236400,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Infocommunications (CogInfoCom)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125270656","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When looking into a bright light source compared to environment and suddenly turning the eyes away from it, the illusionary image of the light source remains in perception, for a while. A subordinate to afterimages defined in our research is virtual colour perception that, according to our interpretation is an unusual and intense temporary colour perception provoked by quick colour change in the incident light. Modelling virtual colour perception can be useful in the field of visual design, for example in dynamic advertising. A computational kinetic model established for simulating and quantifying virtual colour perception was developed in our previous work and was validated with preliminary tests involving 20 observers. Validation test results were contestable due to the high variance (about 50 RSD%) of duration and intensity of afterimage results at each incident light colour change. Thus, in our current work, validation on one-observer tests was performed to minimize the variance of results. Further, these validation tests were run on two liquid crystal display (LCD) types: a nowadays frequently present In-Plane Switching (IPS) display providing vivid colours, and an older LCD-TN (twisted nematic) display.","PeriodicalId":236400,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Infocommunications (CogInfoCom)","volume":"320 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132300778","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper looks at the possibility of the application of a macroscopic memristor (MR), not yet available, combined with a spark gap for over-voltage protection purposes. During teaching the memristor as a disruptive technologies the lecturers and the students do a close cooperative work in the 3D VR space, using several mathematical softwares for analyzing of not yet avaliable memristor, so the humans and ICT are not separable on cognitive level. In this 3D VR education the cooperation of the intelligent systems with humans help to analyse, systemize the information and create new information. Memristors will possibly find applications in the field of electromagnetic compatibility, specifically in over-voltage protection, so it is timely to include it in the curriculum of electrical engineering education in BsC level. The examination of a physically non-existent memristor is made possible by 3D VR space and mathematical and infocommunication softwares. So, presenting another cost-effective opportunity for the educational applicability of VR.","PeriodicalId":236400,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Infocommunications (CogInfoCom)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114649844","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It can affect any personal health and lifestyle. It often happens that we meet people who try many diet and workout programs to lose their overweight and be in shape, but they keep failing to reach their goal. One of the causes for that failure is that most of that diet and exercise programs are general and not designed for that specific person. Although some of these programs are built to fit everybody, we need to create a training program and diet for each person, depending on his body type and his genetic information. This paper uses cognitive infocomunication to introduce an effective weight loss system. The system tries to increase the human brain's ability to understand a person's body characteristic, and develop a typical weight loss plan for that person. It uses the inter-cognitive communication mode of communication where data will be transferred from a set of sensors connected to the human body to a software program that runs on a smartphone. The data will give a better understanding of the weight loss factors and result the best mixture fit of diet and exercise program, which can provide the best result for that body.","PeriodicalId":236400,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Infocommunications (CogInfoCom)","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116544702","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study developed and tested games for toddlers based on the analysis of cognitive and psychomotor skills and the application of the most appropriate functionalities, aiming to build a software to the participants' special needs. 107 toddlers divided into three groups being control group, toddlers born with Down syndrome and born with ZIKA virus, were evaluated for cognitive and psychomotor development. Two touch-screen games were developed to measure executive functions. Among all factors from both games, Proportion of Precision without Error in touch and Proportion of Hits without Repetitions of Smile Game achieved the best result to evaluate immediate performance and training effect. Balloon Game factors best indicators were Holding Time and Reaction Time, evidence for sustained attention and aim persistence. Cognitive and psychomotor skills influenced the final result differently for toddlers born with Down syndrome and ZIKA virus. The platform tested in this study proved to be efficient in evaluating and in training toddlers in executive functions. The calibration steps in the games' configuration allowed children with immaturity or impaired visomotor processing to develop skills while playing the touch-screen games.","PeriodicalId":236400,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Infocommunications (CogInfoCom)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129825312","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While there are indications that these technologies can support vision care, a comprehensive understanding of the possibilities is lacking. Here, we review cross-disciplinary research on performing vision care, and identify current challenges for using and further developing ET technologies. To this end, we describe (1) the involved stakeholders, (2) screening possibilities at schools, and (3) how technology-supported vision screening is used today. Data come from a literature survey of peer-reviewed journal and conference articles, complemented by secondary sources from related projects and products. The focus is on literature after 2000, and in particular, on screening oculomotor dysfunctions (OMD), for school children. The results show that the contributions to state of the art from various research areas are fragmented, in particular regarding the communication between the necessary stakeholders influencing vision care, the handling of general and functional vision care, and between screening and treatment. Further development of ET technologies will likely depend on overcoming these fragmentations. A first step in this direction consists of providing a thorough description of stakeholders, their roles, and requirements enabling communication on children with vision problems.","PeriodicalId":236400,"journal":{"name":"2020 11th IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Infocommunications (CogInfoCom)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129664624","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
