The AgNWs were first spin-coated on flexible substrate and optimized according to the transmission and resistance. Then, the solution-processed AgNWs were transferred and imprinted on the PEN substrate which not only can improve the elastic modulus of film but also enhance the mechanical properties of the electrode. For smart cities applications, the flexible PVKs were further combined with maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithms. The power conversion efficiency (PCE) of flexible PVKs cells can reach around 8.0 %.","PeriodicalId":236366,"journal":{"name":"2018 1st International Cognitive Cities Conference (IC3)","volume":"104 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132369947","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, most students who learned English as a second language have not learned phonics systematically and appropriately, resulting in failed pronunciation in reading and writing English words. For eliminating struggles and barriers in the process of English learning, the new technology and interactive apps are a dynamic avenue assisting with understanding and retention for ESL elementary students. The study was conducted with augmented reality (AR) technology to integrate virtual objects and video clips into the interactive learning environment for second language learning. The effects of students' phonics learning performance were assessed. The results indicated that AR technology had validated the possibility of carrying out digital immersive language learning and embodied cognition, regardless of the drills of rote memorization. The concerns of the curriculum design based on the incorporation of the AR technology and learning materials are discussed further to improve phonics efficiency and competency for English as second language learners.","PeriodicalId":236366,"journal":{"name":"2018 1st International Cognitive Cities Conference (IC3)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134314433","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Yang","doi":"10.1109/IC3.2018.00-15","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/IC3.2018.00-15","url":null,"abstract":"As technology advances, many countries have now opted for electronic voting systems. Any voting system must follow principles of transparency and impartiality in order to achieve fairness; the electronic voting process must also be protected against cyberattacks or denial-of-service attacks (DDOS) because such attacks may affect the processing time in voting procedures and even hinder the fairness in voting. This study establishes a network security mechanism for voting systems based on blockchain technology. The blockchain mechanism employs a distributed architecture that can prevent system shutdown resulting from malicious cyberattacks; additionally, any user in the blockchain can authenticate data integrity, which satisfies requirements of transparency and impartiality in voting systems. This study utilizes bilinear pairing to establish network security in voting systems, which call for anonymity, authenticity, integrity, and non-repudiation. When authenticating voting integrity, the user's anonymity must be ensured to prevent identity revelation, and the data must be protected against malicious tampering such security measures also fulfill blockchain requirements. The proposed voting system relies on the basis of blockchains to create a trustworthy voting system. In current blockchain technology, smart contracts allow the establishment of voter-related regulations to prevent controversies during voting processes. Additionally, in order to establish both a secret ballot and an open ballot system, the study also implements a bilinear pairing security mechanism to ensure the overall security of a voting procedure.","PeriodicalId":236366,"journal":{"name":"2018 1st International Cognitive Cities Conference (IC3)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124598149","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Different existing methods, when the hands close to the body part or in cluttered background, our system remains valid. In the proposed method, a judging procedure of the hand point is applied to obtain more accurate result. As Kinect sensor has relatively large errors in acquisition of depth data at the edge of the object, this will lead to the wrong results with the depth threshold in coarse segmentation step.
