These filters present a computational ability and flexibility to realize three different processes: prediction, filtering and smoothing. Moreover, the medical ultrasound is an interesting area to the applications of p-step unbiased FIR filter type. This is due to the ultrasound images are contaminating with Gaussian and speckle noise. Finally, we present some simulations to prove the new unbiased FIR filters and concluding remarks.","PeriodicalId":236039,"journal":{"name":"2010 20th International Conference on Electronics Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133071043","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, since many fabrics and other organic substrates can not survive the typically high temperatures of thin film growth, it is important to characterize and understand the dependence of the properties of these films as a function of temperature deposition and subsequent thermal treatments. We report on the properties of zinc oxide thin films grown by Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) and the dependence of surface roughness, film stress, surface energy and crystalline structure on deposition temperature.","PeriodicalId":236039,"journal":{"name":"2010 20th International Conference on Electronics Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133125252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This thermometer code is converted to binary code with the help of a thermometer to binary decoder using a ROM. However, this conversion scheme suffers from metastability and bubble errors. A novel ROM architecture has been proposed which suppresses metastability, both first and second order bubble errors. It eliminates the need of an error correction circuit in the front end of the ROM thereby reducing power consumption, area requirement and removing the delay associated with the additional stage. This architecture also eliminates the need of Gray coded ROM and Gray to binary converter thereby making the circuit simpler.","PeriodicalId":236039,"journal":{"name":"2010 20th International Conference on Electronics Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP)","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124524213","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Bayesian frame work can obtain sparse solutions to regression tasks utilizing models linear in parameters. By exploiting a probabilistic Bayesian learning framework, the sparse Bayesian learning provides the accurate model for estimation and consequently equalization. We consider frequency domain equalization (FEQ) using the improved channel estimate at both the transmitter and receiver and compare the resulting bit error rate (BER) performance curves for both approaches and various techniques. Simulation results show that the performance of the RVM method is superior to the traditional least squares technique.","PeriodicalId":236039,"journal":{"name":"2010 20th International Conference on Electronics Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126737946","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The position of the source of the radioactivity can be plotted and displayed to produce a two dimensional image for medical diagnostic. In this work a hardware architecture for reconstruction of 2D images based in FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays) in a gamma camera for small animals is presented. The hardware implementation takes the digitized voltage signals produced by the data acquisition electronics of the photomultiplier tubes and process them to allow identifying events and to determine the strength and positions of the interactions based on the logic of Anger to form a planar image. The architecture performs arithmetic operations, formats the data and stores them in memory blocks to be sent to the displaying stage. Through the use of parallelism techniques and an appropriate management of memory, the necessary logic to structure images is implemented inside the FPGA, reducing the time of processing to reach real time performance and to improve flexibility. The system has been implemented using a FPGA Virtex IV of the Xilinx's family obtaining an area occupation of around 22%, achieving an operation frequency of 322 MHz. These results show the potential of the hardware architecture implemented for its application in images reconstruction on line.","PeriodicalId":236039,"journal":{"name":"2010 20th International Conference on Electronics Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP)","volume":"121 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132500476","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
