This paper studies the performance of the PIC processor in the presence of broadband directional sources such that the processor is able to steer the main beam in any direction without the use of steering delays and leaves almost no residual interference at the output. A number of examples are included to show the effect of various parameters on the performance of PIC processor.","PeriodicalId":236039,"journal":{"name":"2010 20th International Conference on Electronics Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP)","volume":"101 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116425832","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system's control is based on the ¿EyeBot¿ board. The sensing subsystems for infrared and ultrasound transducers are designed to be used in the construction of experimental robots of general purpose. The actuators used are DC motors and servomotors. In order to verify the operation of the systems, a mobile robot that evades obstacles and allows knowing the distance from such obstacle to the robot was built. The system configuration consists of two ultrasound transducers placed in the front and back of the mobile, and the infrared ones placed on the sides. This configuration gives autonomy to the robot, allowing the obstacles' evasion and avoiding collisions with objects around to generate possible escape routes. It is important to highlight that the systems were built in a modular way, which allows different configurations according to the user needs. As future work, modules for light intensity and sound detection will be added in order to provide more flexibility to the system.","PeriodicalId":236039,"journal":{"name":"2010 20th International Conference on Electronics Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128314124","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Almost every day, people lose possessions and, in some cases, thieves or citizens get hurt or even die, in the process. In Mexico, attempts to reduce or prevent crime include vigilance by armed agents [1] and video cameras on public transport [2]. This work contributes to crime reduction and/or prevention on public transport by taking photographic records of people as they get on the bus, using an FPGA based system with camera and Secure Digital (SD) storage. An FPGA is used as the processing device which contains all the necessary logic to obtain the images from the camera, process them to locate the face, extract face region and store them into a SD media using an uncompressed BMP file. For face area location single channel image was used to extract regional attributes and their interregional relationship, resulting in a face detection algorithm with tolerance to skin tones and light conditions.","PeriodicalId":236039,"journal":{"name":"2010 20th International Conference on Electronics Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129908080","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It stand on a previous work called Networking Model for a Virtual Radio Frequency Laboratory (NMFLV) [1]. This proposal addresses with a specific topic in radio frequency. Plenty of analysis is performed in the frequency domain due to limits for time analysis. In order to understand this phenomenon the analyzer uses Fast Fourier Transform, its efficiency in the amount of mathematical operations, FFT is limited only by the number of samples. As it was mentioned our goal is boost the learning process, using IT infrastructure along with electronic prototypes, besides encourage students to use their pace in laboratory activities. The work introduced is performed via NMFLV system; it was designed a spectrum analyzer for undergraduate students and postgraduate students.","PeriodicalId":236039,"journal":{"name":"2010 20th International Conference on Electronics Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116217898","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Research activity in this kind of converter has recently increased in applications for power conditioning—such as voltage control in the distribution system and power flow control in the transmission system—as an alternative for the dc-link approach compensators based on voltage source converters. The control is simpler and the power rating of the devices is smaller for compensators with the same power rating; the main drawback is they cannot control the output-voltage frequency as the matrix converter. This paper presents a state-of-the-art review on the development of ac-choppers. The principle of operation is explained by using the six switches three-phase buck converter as an example. The main applications used in power conditioning and power flow control are introduced along with emerging topologies.","PeriodicalId":236039,"journal":{"name":"2010 20th International Conference on Electronics Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134621880","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The transmission line characterization is carried out from the corresponding S-parameter measurements of two microstrip line test structures designed and fabricated using an Austriamicrosystems 0.35 µm process technology. The microstrip test structures are fabricated with Metal4 conductor and using Metal1 level as a ground plane. The fabrication of test structures with same characteristics but different length (l1 ≠ l2) is indispensable for the parameter extraction procedure. The transmission line characterization obtained from S-parameter data allows taking into account the frequency dependence of the resistance, inductance, and capacitance parameters associated with the interconnection lines under study. In this way an accurate model for global interconnections which is valid for high operation frequencies can be determined.","PeriodicalId":236039,"journal":{"name":"2010 20th International Conference on Electronics Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP)","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127053433","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, these well-known predictors have been tested only in controlled situations where movements are carried out in only one anatomical plane. The objective of this study was to observe the behavior of these features in a more real-life environment involving multi-planar and multi-joint movements such as the case of roundhouse kick in Taekwon Do. Six athletes 23±3.5 years old and BMI of 24.08±3.20 participated in the fatigue protocol. First, the value one-repetition maximum (1RM) was found in order to standardize each subject workload to 80% of 1RM value. Then the subjects were told to perform the functional movement until fatigue were reach. To acquire the raw EMG, three samples were recorded (beginning, middle and end of total experiment) to describe the EMG fatigue behavior over time. Once the data were acquired and EMG features were extracted, the t-sudent test was used to identify statistical significance in the study's findings. Results shown that in MPF and IEMG values were only significant in subject number five (p≪0.05).","PeriodicalId":236039,"journal":{"name":"2010 20th International Conference on Electronics Communications and Computers (CONIELECOMP)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126876914","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
