The environments are, a) Normal(unguided) and b) Guided. An artificial potential function is defined to seek out for goal in normal environment. Initial calculation of optimal path out of several paths from source to destination and traversing the chosen path through nodes (RF-ID tags) is the technique for guided environment. Obstacles hinder the desired movement in both the environments. Attractive and repulsive forces approach helps in avoiding obstacles in unguided environment and leads to point of minimum potential for stabilization. The reverse tracking to the previous node is the technique proposed while facing the obstacle in guided environment. On reaching the previous node, it recalculates optimal path barring the current one if obstacle is still present on that path. The results obtained show the efficacy of techniques in trajectory tracking avoiding the obstacles for both the environments.","PeriodicalId":234609,"journal":{"name":"2016 11th International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130174029","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To obtain these parameters we propose a model where we choose a sub image from the response of Homomorphic filter as reference image to reduce computational complexity. We apply non uniform illuminated images to the proposed filter and compare its performance against standard Homomorphic filter. The proposed filter outperforms the traditional Homomorphic filter in all experiments. Also we compare the error convergence and steady-state error of Sparse aware LMS with LMS algorithm to calculate proposed filter coefficients.","PeriodicalId":234609,"journal":{"name":"2016 11th International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127869238","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The vehicle motion needs to be controlled using optimization algorithms in order to follow the desired trajectory satisfactorily. Sliding mode controller (SMC) is employed for such non-linear systems to make trajectory tracking robust taking into account all surrounding uncertainties. The algorithm obtains an intermediate sliding surface for the vehicle such that the error between actual and desired trajectory is minimum. In this paper, Genetic Algorithm has been used to tune SMC gain parameters. The mathematical model of the vehicle has been developed in the paper for generating desired control actions. The conventional PID control is also applied separately for trajectory tracking by the vehicle. A comparative analysis between two controllers is presented in this paper. The results obtained show the tracking efficiency of SMC even in the presence of disturbances.","PeriodicalId":234609,"journal":{"name":"2016 11th International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130647567","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sensors and associated hardware needed to monitor the vital physiological parameters of the human body are available on the chair, thereby leading to the idea of a Smart Chair. It enables the subject to be seated in a relaxed posture during the acquisition of physiological signals from various sensors attached to his/her body. The raw signals from the sensors are processed digitally by an onboard microcontroller and analyzed for any common abnormalities in the health parameters of the subject. The results are then transmitted to a secured web server using a Wi-Fi module present in the system. The data can be viewed at any later time by a doctor from any remote location on his phone/ computer that is connected to Internet. The subject can also have the results transmitted to his/her own phone using a custom Android application which receives the data from the Smart Chair using Bluetooth. The snapshot of results along with the corresponding text file can be sent as an Email/ MMS to a remote doctor for a quick feedback. The Smart Chair also sends an SMS with all the health details to a remote doctor's phone in case of an emergency, thus facilitating telemedicine in rural areas. Throughout the design phase of the system, the cost was kept minimal. The key focus of the presented work is to propose the design of a product that will be useful and easily affordable by the people of developing nations who have limited access to proper healthcare facilities. The results presented show that the proposed system is definitely a low cost affordable solution for IoT based telemedicine system, as compared to existing systems.","PeriodicalId":234609,"journal":{"name":"2016 11th International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124264775","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, we have focused on ECG (Electrocardiography) signals which play a vital role in diagnosing Cardio Vascular Disease (CVD). CVD is most prevalent among the people because of changing lifestyle, Age, Tobacco, etc. According to the WHO (World Health Organization) report in 2012, around 17 million people die each year because of CVD, which represents 31% of the overall death rate. Due to the advancement in the e-Health care system, most of the ECG signals along with the patient's sensitive data are transmitted among doctors and hospitals for detailed analysis. According to the HIPAA act, it should be made sure that patient's details are to be sent securely during the transmission. In this study various ECG Steganography techniques that have been used by researchers are discussed; in which patient details and diagnosis report are embedded into ECG signals.","PeriodicalId":234609,"journal":{"name":"2016 11th International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"144 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123919734","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Herein, an algorithm to count such objects using shape and color attributes for recognition with scale, rotation and illumination invariance is proposed. Initially, the algorithm extracts shape and color features of the prototype image to find its instance in the real-time pre-processed scene image captured by the vision interface. The pre-processing is achieved by morphological boundary extraction and segmentation techniques. Color and shape features are extracted based on mean hue value and Hu-moments respectively from the obtained segments. SVM, kNN, neural network and tree-bagging are then applied for classification. Tree-bagging is found to eclipse over the other classifiers in terms of accuracy. Finally, the classified objects are counted and localized in the image by drawing bounding boxes around them. A desktop application of the proposed algorithm is also developed. To assess the performance of the proposed algorithm, experimentation has been carried out for various objects having different shapes and colors. The algorithm proved out to be robust and effective for recognition and counting of the texture-less objects.","PeriodicalId":234609,"journal":{"name":"2016 11th International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems (ICIIS)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125443442","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
