For through wall imaging (TWI) application, the transmitting and receiving antenna must be compact and lightweight for portability, high gain, easy to make array and ultra-wide bandwidth. Therefore, Design and fabricate of Vivaldi antenna, an exponentially tapered slotted antenna (ETSA) having broadband width, high efficiency and high gain characteristics. The paper discusses complete design and optimization process of a Vivaldi antenna using CST Microwave studio and also briefly describes its fabrication process. The report also enumerates critical parameters of the fabricated antenna including its S-parameter, beam width and gain.
