Technology remote sensing provides historical data that can study the impact of development on the environmental and local climate. The studies of wetland in reducing Land surface temperature (LST) in tropical climate still lacking. In the first step, pre-processing, namely geometric correction, atmosphere correction, and radiometric correction, need to be performed before to retrieval of LST from thermal band Landsat 5 and 8. In the third step Iso Cluster, unsupervised choose to produce with the land cover map for 1988 and 2019. Geographical Information System (GIS) technology was utilized to determine land cover change and LST change between the years 1988 and 2019. With GIS technology can study the impact of wetland deforestation on local temperatures at a local scale. Next to that, correlations between LST and the wetland were analyzed. The result shows the different land cover between the years 1988 and 2019. The area of land cover wetland and vegetation decrease and area of urban increase. The land cover changes the influence of LST significantly in the study area. For example, the wetland has a noticeable influence on LST. The LST increases with decreasing in areas wetland. Every 5-kilometer square (km²) wetland lost an increase in 1-degree Celsius of LST. Ali","doi":"10.12816/0059146","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.12816/0059146","url":null,"abstract":"This paper is investigating the correlations between school leaders’ strategic leadership practice (SL), quality assurance system practice (QA), and risky and non-risky schools (RNS) in Malaysia by employing a quantitative survey approach. The purpose was to examine the educational leaders’ perceptions on SL, QA, and RNS in Malaysia as well as to determine whether there is a statistically significant difference among these variables. The data were collected from 77 educational leaders from selected 20 Malaysian national secondary schools in Kuala Lumpur (Federal Territory) and Selangor. The research instrument was a set of five-rating scale questionnaire. For the data interpretation, nonparametric correlations, specifically Spearman’s correlation, t-test, and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were performed to test the hypotheses. The results showed a significant correlation between school leaders’ SL and QA (p = .000). However, the correlations of both variables with RNS Malaysian schools were insignificant statistically. The results of t-test that compared the dependent variables (SL, QA, and RNS) with the independent variable (gender) proved no statistically significant difference in SL, QA, and RNS between male and female educational leaders. Finally, the results of the ANOVA and post hoc analyses disclosed statistically significant difference between groups exist, for both professional qualifications as well as current position as an educational leader with SL and QA, but results were insignificant with RNS. This study provides evidence of the positive relationship between school leaders’ strategic leadership practice and quality assurance system practice. Such knowledge may shed some light on the school leaders about the factors that may potentially reduce the risky cases in Malaysian schools. During the initial implementation of the new job design, there were complaints from employees about management due to the result of changing job scope, seniority status and promotion. The researcher conducted this study to analyze the organizational justice affects to work motivation among Kota Kinabalu Polytechnic staff. Researcher posed a research question regarding the significant relationship of job enrichment towards work motivation. Next is related to organizational justice as a moderator or moderating factor between job enrichment and job motivation. SmartPls3 is used to analyze the data obtained from distributed questionnaires. The study population was 345 academic staff. Whereas the sample is selected using random sampling. The results of the questionnaire, 231 people responded. A researcher has developed a research method whereby independent variables are job enrichment, and wok motivation are dependent variables. Meanwhile, organizational justice is a moderating factor between job enrichment and work motivation. A researcher has suggested their findings based on the support of relevant research highlights. In this respect, the study seeks to understand how the third tallest building in the world and the most expensive building was commissioned. Are there any political inclination in the commissioning process, if yes, what are the issues involved. The study relies on the review of relevant literature to make inferences. One of the issues find out by the study is that political influence can be objectively employed or abused; two examples were drawn to this respect; a case of the Seagram building and how a client's daughter uses her influence to convince her father to commission an architect Mies van der Rohe. The other is a highly influential client, an eccentric millionaire whose stringent conditions forced Le Corbusier to abandon the commission he signed. Shamleh, Salah Sabri, Obayda Alaqra","doi":"10.12816/0059067","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.12816/0059067","url":null,"abstract":"Global experiences prove that public-private partnership strategies and build-operate-transfer (BOT)in particular, can provide a reliable alternative funding sources, particularly for developing countries with budget deficits that cannot meet public needs. It is observed that, though many best practices were evolved, but yet a lot should be done to develop an integral system to that. Conclusions of previous research reveals that, rational flexibility from all parties will enable enforcing collaborative solutions to BOT risks. To adopt such strategy in Palestine, this requires accurate identification and consideration of general challenges and those specific to Palestine. A questionnaire comprising 55 challenges classified into six categories was administered to key actor-respondents who rated the influence of those challenges. SPSS analysis shows that political and legal challenges were strongest considerations. To build a model of best practices to BOT adoption, we recommend establishing a public corporation to finance BOT projects and further advise the Palestinian government to establish a BOT unit attached to the prime ministers’ office to manage, handle and develop the implementation of this such a strategy.
