Data for the study were gathered from secondary sources. The data was analyzed with the use of both descriptive and inferential statistical methods. The Toda Yamamoto Non-Causality test was used to ascertain the relationship between Foreign Portfolio Investment and economic growth and the impulse response function was used to examine the transmission response of foreign portfolio investment to economic growth in Nigeria. The study found that there is a bi-directional relationship between foreign portfolio investment and economic growth and the impulse response revealed that economic growth would respond positively and permanently to shocks in foreign portfolio investment in Nigeria after the second period of forecast. The study recommends that policies to encourage the inflow of foreign portfolio investment in Nigeria should be vigorously pursued. Also emphasis should be geared towards efficiency in the use of foreign portfolio investment and the reduction of capital flight.","PeriodicalId":225616,"journal":{"name":"Kuwait Chapter of Arabian Journal of Business and Management Review","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134334854","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The organisation has been a household name in South Africa for over 100 years with roots stemming as far back as 1898. On the 14 th of December 2010, Clover enlisted on the main board of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) and continues to be a leading player in the South African dairy market (Marketline, 2017a).This article explores business strategies and provides insight into the sustainable growth potential of Clover Industries premium beverage portfolio within the LSM 1–6 segments aligning with the organisations growth aspirations. The justification for this article is based on the paradoxical nature of the LSM 1– 6 segment that has income constraints, aspirational attributes and brand attraction. The objective of this article is to provide insight into the key factors affecting consumer purchasing habits in this segment of the market. A cross-industry analysis provides insight into innovative trends and developments. The themes identified in this article have been categorised and have helped provide clarity on the existing gaps in literature. There are specific factors that influence how business can be carried out responsibly within the LSM 1–6 segments without having an undertone of being exploitive. There are trends that have emerged which profile the typical LSM 1–6 consumer and businesses need to understand their specific needs and behaviour and be cognisant of this. The conclusions and recommendations that have been distilled, were derived from interviews with SME’s (Subject Matter Experts). This then provided the foundation for research questionnaires that were administered in the identified high LSM 1 – 6 density areas in KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and the Eastern Cape.","PeriodicalId":225616,"journal":{"name":"Kuwait Chapter of Arabian Journal of Business and Management Review","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123261909","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results are based on an observed aggregate of studies that identify the imperatives of quality circles as substantial and adequate in facilitating improved outcomes of intra-organizational group cohesiveness. In conclusion, this paper affirms that quality circles are useful in addressing both operational and diversity challenges of the organization, and that through the adequate design and structuring of their activities, can substantially contribute towards improved outcomes of intra-organizational group cohesiveness. It was recommended that (a) The design and structuring of such circles should be premised on policies and control frameworks which drive the collaborative processes and interaction between members of the circle in a way that enhances their levels of correspondence and dependence on each other, and that (b) The formats of such circles should also allow for interactive sessions that pool in every member at particular times and which emphasizes on the participation and involvement of all members","PeriodicalId":225616,"journal":{"name":"Kuwait Chapter of Arabian Journal of Business and Management Review","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126748532","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The urgent need to have a competent and properly trained private security service, sometimes referred to as private police, is always a topical issue on the agendas of businesses making use of private security in South Africa. Eskom being a national provider of electricity to private homes and business in South Africa, depends greatly on contracted private security companies to provide security to its Physical Protection Systems (PPS). The behaviour patterns of certain security officials deployed at Eskom sometimes gives rise to certain human risks, which result in criminal and policy violations. The aim of this article was to identify the factors that contribute to the human risks, so that they can be mitigated. The study used primary and secondary data to identify factors that gave rise to the human risks at Eskom. Although the study was concentrated in KZN, the findings are generalised to include South Africa. It was found that many of the human risks were related to the behaviour of individual security officials. It is suggested that there should be meaningful engagement between Eskom management, and the contracted security companies to put in place security risk control measures to mitigate these human risks.","PeriodicalId":225616,"journal":{"name":"Kuwait Chapter of Arabian Journal of Business and Management Review","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128215497","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
