It focuses on the translator's insertion, conversion and deletion of certain Appraisal resources from the original work. The study finds that evaluative prosody of the text plays a significant role in influencing the translator's choices in relation to evaluative expressions. The analysis of the translation also reveals that the translator tends to make explicit in his work the author's invoked or implicit attitudes. However, relative inadequacy is observed in the translator's handling of the metaphorical expressions imbued with the author's emotions. Overall, this paper uncovers the translator's active engagement in the interpretation of the author's axiology and personal stance, while reflecting his own construal of values in the translated version. It provides researchers with an analytical model or perspective to better understand and appreciate the evaluative expressions in the translation process.","PeriodicalId":223840,"journal":{"name":"Lecture Notes on Language and Literature","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135501186","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the importance of Chinese culture is often overlooked in Japanese language teaching. This study uses the methods of literature review and empirical research to understand the current level of attention to Chinese culture in Japanese language teaching and the existing problems. The results show that teaching with Chinese culture can improve learners' motivation and interest in learning, and make learning more lively and interesting. Secondly, by learning Chinese culture, learners can have a deeper understanding of Japanese society and the values and behaviors of Japanese people, and promote the ability of cross-cultural communication. Teaching integrated into Chinese culture also helps to promote mutual understanding and friendship between China and Japan, and has a positive potential impact on promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two peoples.","PeriodicalId":223840,"journal":{"name":"Lecture Notes on Language and Literature","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135501189","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper attempts to analyze the self-constructed corpus of speech discourse from the perspective of proximization theory and the multiple fusion of critical metaphors. It is found that the combination of metaphorical elements and proximization strategies not only helps to highlight the heterogeneity of different entities within the proximization strategy, strengthen the fearfulness of the proximization process, but also helps speech discourse to achieve the function of admonition. The results of the study can not only deepen the audience’s understanding of the proximization theory and provide a useful perspective for better presenting the research results of speech discourse, but also help to explore the path to achieve the persuasive function of speech discourse.","PeriodicalId":223840,"journal":{"name":"Lecture Notes on Language and Literature","volume":"284 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135839493","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although both love stories share a common melancholy theme and both aim to expose and criticise feudalism, there are many differences in their emotional expression, characterisation and tragic endings. Through a comparison of the two, this paper will analyse the inherent differences between Chinese and Western cultures and their different values, the resulting different ways in which the protagonists express their love and their different acts of resistance in the face of oppressive reality. On this basis, it will focus on the important connotations of romanticism in Shakespeare's works and the profound influence of this idealised romantic spirit on future generations. The paper will also focus on the different emphases of tragedy in China and the West, as reflected in the two works ——Western tragedy emphasises the occurrence of tragedy as a result of chance events, while Chinese tragedy emphasises the inevitable outcome due to powerful social factors. Through these comparisons, let us revisit these two classic love stories and travel back in time to re-examine the steadfastness of love.","PeriodicalId":223840,"journal":{"name":"Lecture Notes on Language and Literature","volume":"167 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135843646","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The author classifies the identity of doctors in medical process into three categories by collecting, classifying and analyzing the data of TV series. The first one is the authority identity, which is constructed by using technical terms, modal verbs or the imperative mood. The second is the friend identity, which is constructed by chatting with the patient easily or addressing the patient more closely. The third category is the listener identity, and its construction mainly through repetition or approval of the patient’s attitude. This study finds that by constructing multiple identities, doctors can meet the diverse needs of patients and ease the relationship between doctors and patients. Under the medical background, the mechanism of the construction of doctor's discourse identity can be explained from the principle of interpersonal pragmatics in the identity construction, including the Social Constructivism Principle, the Positionality Principle, the Relationality Principle and the Indexicality Principle.","PeriodicalId":223840,"journal":{"name":"Lecture Notes on Language and Literature","volume":"118 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135501185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
