However, within the framework of the Standard Model Extension (SME) one parameter кtr remains significantly under-constrained compared to the other parameters. It has been shown an asymmetric optical resonator will be sensitive to violations of LI and specifically much more sensitive to кtr than conventional resonators. In this experiment such an asymmetric resonator is compared to a linear sapphire cavity with the measurement system is based on a 1064 nm YAG laser locked to the resonances of both cavities.","PeriodicalId":222495,"journal":{"name":"CPEM 2010","volume":"92 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126428400","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Absolute frequency stabilization of all laser sources has been achieved together with loading of the ion trap using photo-ionization methods. An Erbium fiber laser based frequency comb is used to directly measure the 445-THz clock frequency. A 9 hr preliminary measurement was performed with statistical uncertainty of 1.4 Hz (3×10−15) in excellent agreement with a previously reported value in 2005. A new endcap trap with probing and micromotion correction in three dimensions has been assembled and will have uncertainties approaching 10−17 in the near future.","PeriodicalId":222495,"journal":{"name":"CPEM 2010","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128060216","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our initial experiments have demonstrated accumulation of 75% of the atoms in the mF = 0 sublevel (clock state), which can be compared to a typical 11% population of this sublevel with no additional OP applied. As the (OP) process requires scattering of some 20 photons per atom, the atomic cloud is heated by nearly 1 µK and the final number of atoms reaching the detector is reduced by up to a factor of two, depending on the molasses temperature. Using the OP technique in the NPL-CsF2 fountain we have observed a four-fold net increase of the clock state population.","PeriodicalId":222495,"journal":{"name":"CPEM 2010","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128089247","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Too much or too little microwave power will change the current range of a junction's constant voltage step so that an entire array of junctions will have a smaller total current margin. In this paper we discuss the important aspects of microwave power distribution including splitting the microwaves to different arrays, keeping the microwave bias uniform within an array, and minimizing the total input power to the circuit.","PeriodicalId":222495,"journal":{"name":"CPEM 2010","volume":"253 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133929145","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
