The stiffness of the suspended gate of Flexure-FET changes with the capture of the target molecules and the corresponding change in the gate shape or deflection is reflected in the drain current of FET. This paper deals with the design and simulation of Flexure Gate Field Effect Transistor (Flexure-FET) and the comparative analysis of the different structures of gate using gold (Au) and poly-silicon and presents the investigation of pull-in voltage of the gate and the change in capacitance in between the gate and the channel due to the actuation. The effect of change in gate thickness is reflected in the drain current characteristics of FET and the corresponding ratio of drain current is investigated for higher sensitivity. The simulation has been carried out for fixed-fixed suspended gate with non-uniform meander and both end clamped without meander configurations. The substrate and dielectric used are p-type silicon and SiO2 respectively. The Flexure FET is designed using the commercially available MEMS simulator tool COMSOL 4.4 which uses Finite Element Method (FEM) for the electrical, mechanical and the electromechanical analysis. The Von Mises stress analysis of all the structure is also investigated.","PeriodicalId":22200,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2015 - 2015 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"15 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89375550","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our approach uses three 6 DOF Inertial Measurement Units to analyze the motion of the lower limb. The kinematic constraints induced by a hinge joint are used to accurately estimate the joint axes of the knee and ankle joints. This method does not require the sensors to be placed on a predefined orientation. Kalman filtering based sensor fusion algorithm is implemented to fusion the gyroscope and accelerometer readings and calculate accurate joint angles. The accuracy of the algorithms is tested using pendulum motion and experimental results taken from people without any gait disorders. Finally the system is used to test two sets of people with and without gait disorders and a comparison of the results is also presented.","PeriodicalId":22200,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2015 - 2015 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"1 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83661102","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two new FinFET memory circuits with asymmetrically gate underlap engineered transistors are proposed in this paper for achieving stronger read data stability and lower leakage power consumption. With the proposed asymmetrical six-transistor SRAM cells, read data stability is enhanced by up to 72.2% while maintaining similar write voltage margin and layout area as compared to the conventional symmetrical six-transistor SRAM cells in a 15nm FinFET technology. Furthermore, leakage power consumption is reduced by up to 37.4% with the proposed asymmetrical FinFET SRAM cells as compared to the conventional six-FinFET SRAM cells with symmetrical transistors.","PeriodicalId":22200,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2015 - 2015 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"14 1","pages":"1-3"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82038792","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In such an autonomous hybrid power system, infinite bus concept is not applicable. Therefore, with changing load, generation or both, power system frequency deviates from the nominal value. Thus, controllers are used to mitigate this frequency deviation. There are several tuning rules for obtaining the controller parameters, such as manual tuning, Ziegler Nichols tuning, Cohen-coon tuning etc., however, complexities arise during their implementation. Moreover, recent trend is to use automatic tuning. In this paper, parameters of controllers are tuned by CSA and FA under certain disturbance conditions of the hybrid power system. The simulation results reveal that performance of CSA optimized controllers are better than FA optimized controllers in terms of settling time, overshoot, oscillations.","PeriodicalId":22200,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2015 - 2015 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"28 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86452655","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The untreated n-HA/PEEK composite specimens with HA content of 5 vol.% were prepared via a compounding and injection molding process at first. Partial specimens were annealed in the oven at 250°C for 1h. Then silane coupling agent (SCA) was employed to modify the HA nanoparticles and SCA-HA/PEEK composites were prepared with injection molding process. The n-HA/PEEK composites were prepared by using repeated melting, crystallization and granulation at last. The tensile strength of all the HA/PEEK composites were measured by an Instron IX Material Testing System and the fracture surface of nanocomposites were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results showed that heat treatment, SCA modification, repeated processing could improve the tensile strength. The optimal tensile strength of the composite materials were prepared by repeated processing.","PeriodicalId":22200,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2015 - 2015 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"5 1","pages":"1-3"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87403543","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Single event transients (SETs) at several logic gates might occur independently during a clock cycle, causing a wrong “pulse” captured in a D-flip-flop (D-F/F). To investigate the MET influence, SET effects at each gate are precisely modelled in the proposed primitive cell library. The proposed MET model can program the following three parameters of soft-error pulse as 1) probability of pulse generation, 2) the pulse width, and 3) the pulse position during each internal cycle. Moreover, the probability of generating the wrong pulse, its width, and its position are individually decided at each primitive cell, so that multi-event pulse generations at a combinational circuit are performed. For example, typical benchmark circuits synthesized under a 90nm CMOS technology are simulated in the proposed cell library, and the soft-error effect due to circuit styles is evaluated in accordance with the variety of fault-injection rate. Several correct logical values captured at each D-F/F are generated in spite of false conditions on internal nodes. This proposed cell library for a soft-error simulator at the harsh radiation environments is effectively used to re-verify the existing fault-tolerant circuits such as an ECC.","PeriodicalId":22200,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2015 - 2015 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"1 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88285842","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the frequency modeling of thermal power unit, wind turbine and DC transmission system, the fundamental frequency behavior of HVDC islanded sending was studied. To improving the frequency regulation of the rectifier side, a frequency composite control strategy of DC transmission based on the idea of Load-Frequency Control (LFC) is employed. The important basis of this composite control strategy is the analysis of droop stability of thermal power unit and the implementation of HVDC coordinating control. This paper also analyzed the stability of the control system on the fluctuation of wind power output. The paper takes the Ha-Zheng HVDC sending as an example to illustrate the effectiveness of the control strategy for thermal-wind generation with HVDC islanded sending.","PeriodicalId":22200,"journal":{"name":"TENCON 2015 - 2015 IEEE Region 10 Conference","volume":"3 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86114521","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
