It is a practical application of this methodology in an industrial company in solving a specific issue. Six Sigma uses the DMAIC logic cycle, which was also applied to the project. The aim of the project was to eliminate the process of calibrating parts after hardening, which were marked as nonconforming products. By applying the DMAIC logic cycle, improvements were made that shortened the production process and time to deliver production orders to the customer, reduce production costs, and retain a significant customer.","PeriodicalId":21013,"journal":{"name":"Research Papers Faculty of Materials Science and Technology Slovak University of Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87105183","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The following study is an attempt to determine the quality of public transport services carried out by the Municipal Public Transport Company. The assessment of public transport is a comprehensive concept referring to more than one parameter. New rolling stock, available information, price of tickets, safety of journeys are only some of the components that affect the assessment of public transport. All the elements that the traveller draws attention to are the factors determining the assessment of public transport. Based on the research carried out in Zielona Góra, despite a small research sample, we can assume that the analysis of the research contributed to the assessment of the level of public transport. After the analysis, the test results confirm the residents’ satisfaction with the means of transport. The parameters with unsatisfactory responses provide a signal to improve the quality of services so that subsequent studies will bring greater satisfaction.","PeriodicalId":21013,"journal":{"name":"Research Papers Faculty of Materials Science and Technology Slovak University of Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79774199","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

All departments must adapt to the changing requirements and reflect the new challenges in production management. The controlling has undergone a lot of changes. Downloading data is no longer the only task of a controller. Controlling can be integrated into the organizational structure of the company internally as well as externally. Our goal is to define the advantages and disadvantages of using an internal or external controller. To decide whether to outsource some of the process is not just a question of cost reduction or time reduction. Companies very often decide for outsourcing in case of processes, which require special “know how” or are key from the competitiveness point of view. Outsourcing therefore represents a strategic change. Cost savings are only a side effect.","PeriodicalId":21013,"journal":{"name":"Research Papers Faculty of Materials Science and Technology Slovak University of Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73234269","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Described in the paper is the importance of selected motivational factors and motivational needs fulfilment with respect to different generational groups of employees. The research was carried out at the University based on the data collection from business practice of industrial enterprises. The analysed data were collected in 2018, the total sample consisted of 534 respondents. The respondents were exclusively employees of industrial enterprises. Based on the processing, analysis and evaluation of the collected data, it is possible to draw some recommendations for the management of industrial enterprises, which has to continually face the question of how to approach staff management effectively. The research results are based on examination of different preferences of the employees from various generations, and they point at the need of taking into account the requirements and needs of employees, differentiated according to their age. Respecting these requirements will make possible for managers to take into account the specificities of employees of different ages, and to indicate the ways of effectively managing the age-diversified workforce.","PeriodicalId":21013,"journal":{"name":"Research Papers Faculty of Materials Science and Technology Slovak University of Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78308119","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the other hand, employees of industrial enterprises are increasingly facing the discrimination in finding job or career growth. The main aim of the paper is to analyse the current state of age discrimination in selected human resource management areas in the Slovak industrial enterprises. The research was carried out in the framework of the VEGA project (1/0348/17), whose questionnaire was used in the research. The research sample consisted of the Slovak industrial enterprise’s employees (n = 534). The quantitative statistical methods were used to evaluate the obtained data (pie charts, frequency histograms and the table analysis). The analyses were performed in the software SPSS from IBM and Excel from MS. The most interesting results include the finding that the most common form of age discrimination is employee selection (62) and career progression (62).","PeriodicalId":21013,"journal":{"name":"Research Papers Faculty of Materials Science and Technology Slovak University of Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79738085","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It can be seen that, comparing to the past, variety of changes in organizations is increasing, increases their frequency, and the speed with which they need to be implemented. Appropriate chosen and applied management practices can help to manage the implementation of changes in the organization and employees to perform their work without growing concerns over changes. The aim of the paper is to present the results of research aimed at identifying the degree of conservatism and progressivism in attitudes towards change with respect to different generational groups of employees. A questionnaire method was used to collect data. The research sample consisted of employees of industrial enterprises and employees working in the public sector with a total of n = 79. Quantitative statistical methods and thought processes were used to process and interpret the obtained data. For example, generation X, Y, millennia’s, and so on. In this article we are looking for an answer to what is the generation, as it is characterized from a management point of view. From the management perspective we consider the selection of those parameters that support managerial decision-making in a real situation. Therefore, they are practically applicable. In the first part we examine the correlation between the generations and Kopčaj development cycles. The second part dealt with the appropriateness of certain characteristics and parameters of generations to manage. In the third part we describe briefly the results of the survey of these parameters in the Slovak companies. Conclusions: 1. there is a very strong correlation between the generations and Kopčaj development cycles. This allows to more accurately characterize the generation, its behavior, characteristics and interaction with employers. 2. on the management characteristics of the generation (or any group) are suitable parameters such as potential, knowledge and energy measured by entropy over the conditions of stability. 3. the survey shows that for the successful integration of generation into the company it is necessary to harmonize these parameters.","PeriodicalId":21013,"journal":{"name":"Research Papers Faculty of Materials Science and Technology Slovak University of Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80891930","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper describes the situation in Slovakia based on the analysis of data from quantitative research collected in 2018 on a sample of 534 employees in industrial enterprises. The empirical findings presented, which describe the differences between generations, focus mainly on the importance of work motivation factors and the level of achievement of these factors in correlation with the stated intention to change employment. Analysed data confirmed that relationships with colleagues are generally the most important work factor for all generations, but we found some significant differences between generations in work motivation items such as career advancement, personal growth, achievement, advantageous working hours and benefit to society.","PeriodicalId":21013,"journal":{"name":"Research Papers Faculty of Materials Science and Technology Slovak University of Technology","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82233679","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
