Both these technical objects are the result of the project carried out by the Student Research Group ?Turbodoładowani?. The steering machine has been developed with the programmable algorithms allowing to execute a controllable movement of the vehicle steering wheel. After execution, the system does not need an interaction with the driver. For this reason, a higher repetition of the vehicle traction measurements can be achieved. Such confirmation obtained in tests within which the time waveforms of rotation angle of the steering wheel by a set value of 45, 90, 180 and 360 degrees was recorded.  In particular, the accuracy index for mentioned test conditions was calculated. Obtained results, expressed by the average value of the sensitivity index were lower than 2% within the tests carried out for ?45 degree maneuvers. In case of other tests i.e., for ?90, ?180 and ?360 degree maneuvers the accuracy index value was lower than 0.3%. In this way, it was confirmed that the tested PSM reached the appropriate operating parameters necessary for vehicle traction tests.","PeriodicalId":204178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Civil Engineering and Transport","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131349293","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The use of UAVs in the airspace has become widespread, despite many implemented legal regulations, there are many incidents that threaten not only aircraft during the flight, but also the airport infrastructure. The potential threats and the chances of implementing remedial measures were analyzed. An attempt to evaluate the possibility of maintaining aviation safety at an appropriate level in the conditions of UAV operational conditions has been done. The main research problem was defined as follows: How would implementing unmanned aerial vehicles into the air transport system influence the acceptable level of safety? The article uses theoretical methods such as: system analysis, analysis and synthesis in the field of literature, analogy, comparative method. In terms of empirical methods, an original diagnostic survey was carried out, based on a selected group of people related to the explored topic. In addition, the observation method was used by the feedbacks and observations of the group of air traffic controllers from civil airports (located in Poland). The article describes the current transformation of air transport, taking into account the planned modernizations. It presents the PansaUTM system as one of the countermeasures, monitoring and securing the movement in the airspace. Furthermore, the transponder issue was raised in relation to the enhancement of the UAV identification system, with a  detailed explanation of the importance of the TCAS (Traffic Collision Avoidance System). Referring to the prospects for the development of air transport, the latest design concepts for cargo drones were presented. The issue of full transport autonomy of UAVs was analyzed based on the requirements of legal regulations. The comparison of benefits and threats in conjunction with the conducted empirical methods allowed for the development of conclusions confirming the research hypothesis and indicating the possibility of using remedial measures in the process of UAV evolution.","PeriodicalId":204178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Civil Engineering and Transport","volume":"117 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117326764","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Design processes are based on classic solution models which use structural steel profiles. Directions for development include the production of highly tensile steel frames with increased strength parameters. The authors of the article designed and constructed a prototype polymer body for a delivery vehicle. They conducted detailed multi-variant numerical analyses on the prototype and preliminary experimental tests. The obtained results clearly confirmed the correctness of the formulated thesis about the possibility of designing bodies made of structural plastics dedicated to electric vehicles. For a static-loaded parts of structure uniform stress distribution without concentration, with maximum stress value of 25 MPa was achived. For parts of structure carrying dynamic loads shape-derived stress concentration is inevitable. Nevertheless, the stress level of 96 MPa is within the limits of strength, due to the velocity-dependent material properties.","PeriodicalId":204178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Civil Engineering and Transport","volume":"149 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123567727","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The need for reliable, modern and safe railway traffic control devices has forced manufacturers in the railway industry to use high quality microprocessors in their structures. Devices used to safety traffic at intersections of railroads and roadways in one level shall be absolutely operational and reliable. Such solutions are the modern systems of automatic level crossing signaling made in computer technology. They use structural redundancy, programmable logic controllers, and have extensive self-diagnostic and technical diagnostic mechanisms. The paper presents selected analyses of railway traffic safety on the example of the automatic level crossing of system BUES 2000 type by Scheidt & Bachmann.","PeriodicalId":204178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Civil Engineering and Transport","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123529745","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In transport, they are used to secure all kinds of products from sender to consumer. Due to growing and changing needs of the market, packagings must have appropriate aesthetic qualities and resistance to external factors that may occur during transport. Therefore, it is important to constantly adapt packagings in the context of complying with standards of transport of products. The goal of the article was to analyse and assess selected properties of packagings of cosmetic products in the aspect of  transport processes. Strength tests (compression test, tensile test), test of resistance of the packagings to high temperature and test of changes of properties of the packagings using an immersion method were conducted. An analysis of conducted tests gave an answer for the question whether packaging properly protect products in a transport process.","PeriodicalId":204178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Civil Engineering and Transport","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128607217","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Econometric models are used for this purpose. The object of this research was to develop econometric models that show the strength of the influence of various factors on the implementation of public-private partnership (PPP) projects in the area of transport infrastructure in France, GB, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. The models express the dependence of the value and number of PPP contracts on the value of measurable PPP success factors. Projects with a value of at least EUR40 million were included. A linear model and seven models transformable to linear were used. Four groups of factors were considered as explanatory variables. Fourteen indicators were obtained. Principal components determined based on covariance and correlation matrices were also used. The best models for the number of PPP contracts are linear and hyperbolic I models. For the value of contracts - linear and hyperbolic I and logarithmic models. The best models were indicated taking into account the type of explanatory variables and regardless of the type of explanatory variables.  Nine criteria were used to assess the quality of the models. Factors having a significant impact on the value and number of PPP models were identified from the best models. Factors having no significant influence were also indicated.","PeriodicalId":204178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Civil Engineering and Transport","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132374963","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Pilot surveys and field research held in 2019 in 10 Gdansk primary schools confirmed this trend. The article presents a certification system for schools, commissioned by the City of Gdańsk, which is an element of a systemic solution shaping patterns of transport behavior in school trips. The essence of the proposed approach is motivating and supporting schools by government to create conditions conducive to independent and active travel of children and adolescents. An important element of the certification process is the assessment stage in accordance with the set of criteria adopted and grouped into six areas concerning: children transport behavior, infrastructure and traffic organization in and around the school, mobility policy, road safety, promotion, and education. Groups of criteria were divided into basic and extended ones and assigned points in an assessment calculator. A minimum threshold of points has been set in each category to attract schools to take comprehensive action. The assessment calculator has been supplemented by catalogues of good practices describing possible actions that could be taken to meet a given criterion. The full certification process has not yet been completed in Gdańsk due to the coronavirus pandemic and the transition to remote learning. However, the first infrastructural improvements have already been made in the vicinity of schools.","PeriodicalId":204178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Civil Engineering and Transport","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131690644","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The analyzes were based on the latest editions of the guidelines in the United States, Canada, Australia, Germany and Poland. In order to carry out accuracy analyzes, traffic tests were carried out at 5 intersection inlets in three different cities in Poland (Bydgoszcz, Torun, Warsaw), covering all phases of vehicle queue formation during individual periods of the signaling cycle (effective red and green signal). In total, the analysis had the results of tests from 81 hours of observation ~23,000 behaviors of vehicle drivers. Based on the analyzes it was found in particular: (1) slight differences in the construction of mathematical models of the considered calculation methods, with the exception of the US HCM model from 2016; (2) small errors in estimating the maximum queue length in unsaturated vehicle flow states (~3-5 vehicles/cycle and ~2-6  vehicles/15 minutes interval); (3) quite large errors in estimating the maximum queue length in saturated and oversaturated vehicle flow states (~11-16  vehicles/cycle and ~15-18 vehicles/15 minutes interval); (4) the main impact on estimation errors in oversaturation traffic states is not taking into account or incorrect determination of the 'so-called' initial queue length of the period preceding the analyzed period.","PeriodicalId":204178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Civil Engineering and Transport","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114604664","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A ZSM mobile robotic bricklaying system (ZSM in Polish Zrobotyzowany System Murarski) was designed and developed in a demonstration version. The mobile ZSM consists of an ABB six degrees-of-freedom (6 DoF) industrial robot with a replaceable hydraulic gripper, a Hinowa tracked undercarriage with a hydraulic unit, hydraulic lifting and leveling module, a brick warehouse, a brick belt feeder, a mortar applicator, a control cabinet, and a control panel. Simulation tests were performed in a virtual ABB RobotStudio environment to verify the functioning of the robot and individual ZSM modules during the bricklaying process. ZSM control is based on the Siemens Simatic S7-1500 programmable controller in the fail-safe version, which supervises the correct operation of all devices. ZSM was tested under laboratory conditions and on the construction site. The robotic technological process of building a wall consists of the following stages: the robot grips the bricks, picks them up, manipulates them, applies mortar to them, and places them on the wall.","PeriodicalId":204178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Civil Engineering and Transport","volume":"171 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116059092","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Focus is given to the transportation and storage sector (NACE Rev. 2 code H). The pandemic unevenly impacted this sector: while specific subsectors were thriving during this period (e.g. parcel delivery services), others were suffering due to abrupt mobility changes (e.g. public & individual mobility services). Public policies were presented not only as a tool to reduce the negative impact of the pandemic but also to provide a platform to build new competitive advantages for national business entities, thus providing the rationale for an analysis of the actual impact of programs aimed at the transportation and storage sector. The impact of the state-aid focusing on the analysed was uneven between the analysed countries. Even though, the deployed programs have helped the industry to return to pre-pandemic levels within 4 quarters. This proves that apart from the structure of state-aid programs and schemes, an important factor was the pre-pandemic value chains. This could serve as a starting point for further research as more data become available.","PeriodicalId":204178,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Civil Engineering and Transport","volume":"147 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132288191","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
