The article attempts to determine the values of forces when overcoming road unevenness. It has been assumed that there is a single unevenness on the road with a certain height that the vehicle runs over at different speeds. The effect of inequality and vehicle speed on the magnitude of individual forces was analysed. The stiffness of the tires was determined on the flat road and on the edge of the bump on the basis of the tests. The tire deflections were determined at the moment of hitting the road unevenness.","PeriodicalId":192816,"journal":{"name":"2020 XII International Science-Technical Conference AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116277556","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These indicators allow to characterize the behavior and skills of a given driver and to compare them with each other. They are also the basic measurable source, which is very important in the aspect of research. The research itself, through the use of indicators, makes it possible to assess the quality of driving and the safety performance of the activity. The literature contains a number of definitions relating to the indicators presented, which differ from one another. This makes the definition adopted and therefore the methodology of measurement is often different and comparing test results makes no sense. Therefore, the article contains the most popular and accurate terms and definitions of these indicators, which have also been graphically interpreted as far as possible.","PeriodicalId":192816,"journal":{"name":"2020 XII International Science-Technical Conference AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132736674","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its restraint effect can be controlled only when the occupant’s contact data with the airbag is available. A new capacitive tactile sensor is developed and installed on the airbag surface to provide the occupant’s first contact time, contact area and position on the airbag. Based on this feedback, the airbag pressure can be controlled. An airbag deployment is associated with different phases from trigger to full deployment. Before detecting the occupant, it is important to know the effect of these phases on the sensor. In this paper, the phase effects of dynamic airbag deployment on the contact sensor during the simplified static deployment tests are analyzed and discussed. Time-to-first-gas, unfolding of the textile, inflation, and cable capacitance effects are the key points brought to discussion. The results reveal, no effects of time-to-first-gas and inflation on the contact sensor. While the unfolding and cable capacitance have significant effects on the sensor which should be accounted for the occupant detection algorithm.","PeriodicalId":192816,"journal":{"name":"2020 XII International Science-Technical Conference AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132292825","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objectives of introducing such vehicles include reducing the negative impact on the environment as well as reducing their running costs. With the development of these vehicles, new risks arise. This paper presents key problems related to the development of hybrid and electric vehicles, issues that are unknown to conventional vehicles with internal combustion engines. The article focuses on identifying these risks and hazards that occur when a hybrid or electric vehicle is in use, but also when such a vehicle is not in use. Potential risks for emergency personnel in the event of an accident with such vehicles have also been identified. The article also deals with possible harmful events that may occur after or due to incorrect vehicle repairs. The problems of low sound volume of hybrids and electrical vehicles, as well as electric scooters left unmarked in the road were emphasized.","PeriodicalId":192816,"journal":{"name":"2020 XII International Science-Technical Conference AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131895699","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This makes public transport more competitive about individual car transport. Public transport vehicles in Košice are currently not preferred to an appropriate extent. The absence of dedicated bus lanes causes significant vehicle delays and passenger travel time increases. The article was focused on the analysis of the travel speed of public transport vehicles on Hlinkova Street in Košice, which is based on a survey conducted in April 2019. Based on this, a solution was proposed to build a dedicated bus lane for public transport vehicles and calculated travel time savings.","PeriodicalId":192816,"journal":{"name":"2020 XII International Science-Technical Conference AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY","volume":"180 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127314260","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The algorithm for adjusting damping level for a short time after encountering such obstacles in order to achieve quicker dissipation of energy in a suspension system was presented as well as a potential way of improving comfort due to this control. Analysis of suspension forces power showed that there is a possibility to recognize individual bumps for certain cases, which will be discussed further. Analysis of the results of use of a specifically designed damping control shows that a small comfort improvement due to the change in control strategy is possible.","PeriodicalId":192816,"journal":{"name":"2020 XII International Science-Technical Conference AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116680039","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The reasons can be different: late delivery, damaged goods or shipment will not be arrived at all. This problem is often caused by theft of goods at unsecured parking areas. The article will focus on the number of secure and safe parking places for semi-trailers. The data used have been sourced from the Central Statistical Office, Polish National Police Headquarters, European Union agencies, and OECD. The study depicts the periods of growth and drop in the traffic safety indicators under analysis. Positive interpretations of the numerical data presented have been highlighted. For the period from 1990s to 2018, a downward trend (with local disturbances) can be clearly seen in the number of road accidents and in the number of the killed and injured in the accidents. All this took place at a stable growth in the number of motor vehicles registered. It would be difficult not to regard this as a considerable success in the behavior of the Polish society and in the actions taken by the state authorities responsible for road traffic safety.","PeriodicalId":192816,"journal":{"name":"2020 XII International Science-Technical Conference AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128275042","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The data regarding the number of accidents was obtained from the Polish Accident and Collision Records System (Polish abbreviation - SEWIK). Traffic flow, vehicle speed and urban traffic noise were recorded by two traffic and noise monitoring stations at Krakowska and Lódzka streets in Kielce in 2013. The road noise was calculated according to the Cnossos-EU method and compared with measured values. Relation between the median of the number of traffic accidents, traffic volume, vehicle speed and noise in subsequent hours of the day was analyzed. High values of the correlation coefficient calculated for the relationship between the number of road accidents and traffic volume, speed and noise were found. In the case of Krakowska street (Road No 762), the values of this coefficient were, respectively: 0.88, -0.83 and 0.74. For Lódzka street (Road No 74), the values of the correlation coefficient between the tested parameters were 0.89, -0.82 and 0.85. The study showed that the largest number of road accidents occurs during the morning and afternoon rush hours. At these times of the day the noise is also the highest. The possibility of using the median of the road noise and traffic volume as a traffic accidents descriptor was examined.","PeriodicalId":192816,"journal":{"name":"2020 XII International Science-Technical Conference AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY","volume":"437 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132862107","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
