Abstract
The paper analyses requirements for tracking and tracing solutions for dangerous goods carried by intermodal transport. Intermodal transport of dangerous goods influences the requirements for tracing and tracking solutions in term of autonomous operation, robust equipment, explosion proof device. The data can be provided to shippers, carriers and authorities as a commercial information or in case of accident or for security reasons. This paper deals with the problem of designing tracking and tracing solution for dangerous goods carriage with the support of modern information technologies. This research activity presents a part of the “ChemLog T&T” [1] project solved at the University of Žilina for Slovak Association of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry as a project partner. The main goal of our contribution is to present certain results of pilot tests of monitoring dangerous goods within the ChemLog T&T.
