In the article a 3D generalization is presented in order to better understand its operation in modern software for simulation of vehicle accidents. This article covers theory (in a concise vector-matrix notation), examples, references to validation and a brief discussion about unrelenting popularity of the impulse-momentum model in accident simulation in the finite element method perspective.","PeriodicalId":192816,"journal":{"name":"2020 XII International Science-Technical Conference AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127749524","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of such research directions is searching for alternative fuels and adapting engines to be supplied with those fuels. The article discusses the effect of the methyl esters of rape seed oil fatty acids and the rape seed oil addition on the emissions of harmful exhaust gas components, i.e. nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons, carbon oxides, carbon dioxides, and exhaust gas smokiness. The subject of testing was of an AD3.152 UR selfignition engine which operated following the load characteristics at n=1600 rpm and three injection timing of 13, 17 and 21 BTDC. The tests were carried out on an engine dynamometer test stand consisting of an eddy-current brake, a control and measuring cubicle, and an Horiba MEXA-1600 DEGR analyzer for the measurement of harmful exhaust gas component concentrations. The degree of exhaust gas smokiness was measured with an AVL DiCom 4000 smokemeter, while the fuel consumption was measured using a 730 fuel dosimeter supplied by AVL.","PeriodicalId":192816,"journal":{"name":"2020 XII International Science-Technical Conference AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY","volume":"85 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132722067","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unfortunately, the dynamic development of motoring observed in the last 2 decades, contributes to many negative phenomena occurring in road transport. Traffic congestion and high risk of accidents result in disappointment of many drivers and public transport users, causing psychological tension and increasing the traffic accident rate. The article presents a comparative analysis of the state of road traffic safety in Poland, Slovakia and Czech Republic, on the basis of reports and statements of the relevant state bodies. The traffic accident rate is one of key indicators that helps measuring processes of the transport system and its development. In this study we presents the differences on road traffic safety in three countries, also demonstrated traffic accidents caused by technical malfunction of the vehicle and selected aspects of improvement of traffic safety.","PeriodicalId":192816,"journal":{"name":"2020 XII International Science-Technical Conference AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127480503","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These vehicles use an electric motor to drive the wheels of the vehicle and the necessary electrical energy is stored in traction batteries. Electric vehicles have a different construction method than traditional vehicles powered by internal combustion engines. For this reason, they are used, maintained and serviced differently. Becoming more familiar with selected operational issues of electric vehicles positively affects the reliability of their use as well as the safety and comfort of driving them. One important component of electric vehicles is the traction battery. Its proper operation influences the long-term preservation of the initial energy capacity and thus the range of the vehicle. The article presents test results concerning the state of traction batteries of a small electrically powered city vehicle. The vehicle, the batteries used and the diagnostic devices used to assess the condition of the battery are all described in detail. Based on literature analysis and the observation of market trends, a fast and effective method of assessment of the technical condition of batteries in electric vehicles was proposed. The method was tested on the selected vehicle. The technical condition of the battery in the vehicle was assessed after 30,000 km and 4.5 years of operation.","PeriodicalId":192816,"journal":{"name":"2020 XII International Science-Technical Conference AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY","volume":"108 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123689712","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The crash absorber has three equally distanced diaphragms inside. A five variable problem is considered where the long and short edge thicknesses along with the thicknesses of the three diaphragms are accounted as design variables. The crashworthiness sensitivity analyses are performed on the initial peak force (IPCF) and specific energy absorption (SEA). 100 training points and 30 test points are created within the design domain using Latin hypercube sampling, and surrogate models are constructed. For each response, the most accurate surrogate model is determined and these models are further used in the sensitivity analysis. The effect of long and short edge thicknesses is found to be higher than the effect of diaphragms in both responses, with the effect of long edge thickness higher than the effect of short edge thickness.","PeriodicalId":192816,"journal":{"name":"2020 XII International Science-Technical Conference AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129440333","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A practical solution of using the brain activity of a disabled driver during emergency braking was analyzed. The conducted tests confirm that bioelectrical signals (BES) induced by muscle tension within the head can be used to wireless remote control of a pneumatic actuator to exert the pressure force on the foot brake pedal for the disabled driver during car emergency braking. It has been shown that the BES artifacts generated by muscular tension inside the head (e.g. movement of the face and eyelids, clenching of jaws, pressing the tongue on the palate) are the easiest to control of the pneumatic systems. The proposed car braking assistance system controlled by the driver’s brain activity can improve the driving safety of disabled people, e.g. by reducing the reaction time of a pneumatically assisted emergency braking.","PeriodicalId":192816,"journal":{"name":"2020 XII International Science-Technical Conference AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY","volume":"270 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121123819","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper describes factors affecting braking performance. The tests were repeatedly carried out on dry asphalt pavement using specialized testing equipment. The deceleration was determined as a function of time and the maximum deceleration values were determined. Statistical analysis of the obtained results was performed, mean values and values of standard deviation were determined. Based on the conducted experiments, it can be stated that the maximum deceleration braking on asphalt surface depends on the type of vehicle.
