O simulador foi inserido no Moodle e 18 alunos do 7o semestre de medicina realizaram a tarefa e responderam a um questionario validado para a avaliacao de softwares educativos com perguntas sobre: o aprendizado, a interatividade, motivacao, concentracao, atratividade, operacionalidade e autonomia. A experiencia foi considerada extremamente valida. O desafio e enorme no sentido de buscar alternativas de interatividade que estimulem e que simultaneamente abriguem conteudo, com um aprofundamento adequado ao objetivo do curso. Martins, Alberto Hokari","doi":"10.5753/RBIE.2014.22.02.47","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.5753/RBIE.2014.22.02.47","url":null,"abstract":"In this study, part of a research to identify possible predictors of academic performance in distance education, aimed to explore the link between academic performance, certain social characteristics and skills with information and communication technology of students enrolled in specialization courses offered by the Universidade Aberta do Brasil System. 288 students of specialization courses from a Public University in Minas Gerais state, all basic education teachers (8.7% early childhood education; 59.4% elementary school; 26.7% high school; 5,2% didn’t declare) took part in this survey. The age ranged from 23 to 60 years old, which 52.1% up to 34 years old and 78.5% women. Contrasting groups were assembled, one with course’s initial module graduates (N=188) and the other by students with poor academic performance and received lower grades (N=100). It was used the following materials, computerized test “Escala de Desempenho em Tecnologias de Informacao e Comunicacao (EDTEC)”, average academic scores obtained by the evaluation method established in the pedagogical project and extracted from the Institution academic control system, as well as the social data was obtained using a computerized questionnaire. The results indicate the gender has no effect on academic performance, but the age and the monthly incoming seems to impact it. Also, a possible link between technology resources use skill and the student’s academic performance on the overall average score on the disciplines taken was showed. Um desafio na educacao, e particularmente na educacao a distância, e, portanto, a utilizacao e gerenciamento de tecnicas e material didatico que contemple, ao mesmo tempo, as tres diferentes categorias de assimilacao de conhecimento. Neste contexto, e apresentada neste trabalho uma abordagem que visa suprir esta carencia tecnica e material e que alcance igualmente o publico de perfil de aprendizado audio, visual e sinestesico. A abordagem foi aplicada sobre alunos do curso de Ciencias Atmosfericas da Universidade Federal de Itajuba e consistiu da aplicacao de um formulario para o levantamento do perfil de aprendizado dos alunos e um formulario diagnostico antes e apos a aplicacao de um video, o que possibilitou levantar a eficacia do mesmo no processo de aprendizagem. Within this scenario, Brazil launched its own version of the 'One Laptop per Child' (OLPC) program, and this initiative, termed PROUCA, has already distributed hundreds of lowcost laptops for educational purposes in many Brazilian schools. However, in spite of its importance, PROUCA program does not have tools that help managers monitor, understand and evaluate which curricular and extracurricular activities have been developed with the laptops. Therefore, this article aims to present MEMORE, a computational environment that provides management information about the use of laptops in PROUCA´s context. The Pro-Licenciatura was the first experience of the federal government to start the implementation of distance graduation programs in public universities. In a time when we discuss distance education institutionalization in universities, the rescue of historical negotiation and discussion to the creation and expansion of distance learning courses can be an important differential for us to think in diversified and contextualized proposals for distance learning in universities. This article proposes to examine the role of UNIREDE on building a public policy for distance education in the country that privileged dialogue and cooperation between representatives of higher education institutions, specifically the period of construction of a public policy for distance education in the country. The methodological approach is based on documental research, since the central question of the study is related to a specific policy with the theoretical scope in the field of cultural studies which enables to use different media and discuss whether or not it can be used as a legitimate expression of thought of a particular group. Thus, we developed a virtual environment, called O HALYEN as an Intelligent Tutoring System based on intelligent agents. The purpose of the environment is to act as a technological tool to aid classroom learning through dynamic selection of the teaching strategy, according to the profile, emotional state and other characteristics of each student. This article presents the methodology used in the classroom for teaching programming and focuses on the system specifics. As part of the intelligent system four emotions were defined. These emotions are inferred from the definition of events, rules and a MSLQ–based initial profile of the student. In this sense, the present study aims to characterize and discuss curricular interactions in a Computer Science course based on the performance of graduating students. The performance data were subjected to Principal Components Analysis and Hierarchical Cluster Analysis to identify possible correlations between: performances in different disciplines, the influence of classification in the admission test and the time required to conclude the course. It was detected the association of disciplines in nine groups, with emphasis on the group labeled \"basic\", which interferes with the duration of the course. It was noted that performance in the admission test loses importance during of the course. It was developed in undergraduate and graduate distance and mediated by the Free Virtual Environment for Teaching and Learning (Moodle) in the Open University of Brazil (UAB) under the responsibility of the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) in especially at the poles where we act as teachers. Our theory-guide has been organized in the dialogical education organized by educational technology tools wiki, forum, glossary, task, and evaluation research. Besides this, we work in educational practice mediated by technology, from the perspective of activity theory study, explicitly in order to model actions and operations in the didactic modules of Moodle. This objectives and goals were in the sphere of creation of patterns and regularities of changes of knowledge representation and conceptual organization hypermedia. Transformations and regularities are unifying concepts of the first order of the field of science and technology present in all subareas of that knowledge. In methodological course, cyclical-spiral that characterizes the active scholarly research, we produce teaching and learning in distributed architecture, as a coordinated and interrelated conceptual hypermedia network, prioritizing the problems tackled in inverted symmetry: the problematization of reality for the study of the concepts , laws, theories and phenomena. However, many times the effectiveness of these systems is reduced because of some student’s behaviors. One of these cases is the Gaming The System, when the student try to explore the tutor features in order to have a faster progress in the problem solving. In order to minimize Gaming The System and improve student’s experience, this paper presents a non-restrictive approach to the behavior. We developed Animated Pedagogical Agents with different kinds of personality. The agents react when the learner “Game The System” by help seeking and show that they recognize the student’s inappropriate behavior. The two different approaches show that the tutor can influence the way how the student face the experience through its actions and, in this way, discourage this practice.
