However, the receptive history of the text indicates that this reading only emerged at the beginning of the 20th century. In this article an attempt is made to trace changing of the correlation between the readers’ reception strategies and the narrative strategies of the text at different times, and to describe the mechanisms of readers’ interpretation, which resulted in the transformation of “The Queen of Spades” from a secular short story (close to The Belkin Cycle) into the Petersburg Tale.","PeriodicalId":187515,"journal":{"name":"Culture and Text","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126922703","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the novel the author fully manifested the algorithm of the artistic ‘refusion’ of the facts from his own lifetime and the family history. That resulted in the ‘text of life’ transforming into the literary text. The heritage dispute had become the plot stem of the novel. It also got complicated with a moral&psychological and philosophical&religious conflicts. The dispute threw the shadow over the narrative structure of the novel. The same event is interpreted in the book from different subjective viewpoints that define moral (self)estimations of the heroes. Rising above different interpretations of justice, legal and moral rights in relation to the heritage case, the artist of Dostoevsky gives the readership a potential opportunity to assess them from the Christianity prospective.","PeriodicalId":187515,"journal":{"name":"Culture and Text","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125963364","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results of research by scientists in this field have a significant contribution to the fight against aphasia. In this publication, we will consider the results of an experiment with 58 bilinguals to measure two psycholinguistic parameters of Tuvan words: representability and similarity of an image with a picture. Word representability determines how easily and quickly the respondent can imagine the stimulus word. In case of a speech disorder, the higher the value of this parameter for a word, the higher the probability of its preservation or restoration in the patient’s mental lexicon. The parameter “similarity of the image with the picture” reflects how the picture is equivalent to what the informant imagines when he reads the word. This parameter is important in the selection of stimulus material for speech therapy.","PeriodicalId":187515,"journal":{"name":"Culture and Text","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128064555","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is emphasized that negatively colored emotional concepts are most frequently used, among which the concept of “fear”, which belongs to the genre-forming features of horror, occupies a special place. The means of textual representation of the concepts “fear”, “anxiety”, “panic”, “horror”, “disgust”, “anger”, “rage” are revealed. M. Dostoevsky’s novel «Crime and Punishment». The material of the research is the most representative episode analysis (selected from the factual German translations of the novel by V. Genkel, E. Kerrik, A. Eliasberg, S. Geier), where the concept of family is objectified through lexemes comprising the nucleus of its nominal field as well as through the author’s elements that expand it. Thanks to the family’s adherence to the basic values of traditional cultures, the translators avoided serious semantic distortions and reached the maximum level of equivalence in their translations. The causes of reduction and intensification of some concept features are due to the linguistic and cultural asymmetry, as well as the lack of attention of translators to the features of Dostoevsky’s style.","PeriodicalId":187515,"journal":{"name":"Culture and Text","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130620906","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Meanwhile the finale of The Denouement had assumed the necessity for the material world to transfigure itself into the spiritual one. In the late Gogol’s journalism was declared as the total Russian’s mission. This motive comes from the early Gogol’s prose, where the Nature and the people are constantly denoted through their essential and therefore predicative feature. Signification regularly and openly presents itself as transformation. This suggests that the world-view of early Gogol was not only and not so much overcome by his late baroque religious poetics as morphologically preparing it.","PeriodicalId":187515,"journal":{"name":"Culture and Text","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132081550","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
