On the other hand, knowledge and knowledge management are new elements that are atracting opportunities and challenges to managers and firms. Researchers such as Li e Calatone (1998), Narver e Slater (1990), Shapiro (2006) and Voss, Montoya-Weiss e Voss (2006) point out the importance of learning and managing market knowledge for organizations in general. This research was developed with the aim to empirically examine the relationships between innovation, market knowledge management and the performance of new products within the market. By means of a survey based on 434 respondents and the use of structural equation modeling (Hattie, 1997), it is possible to verify the supremacy of the competitor knowledge management process over other constructs. Essa decisao ocorreu em um momento critico do processo de internacionalizacao da empresa, dado que representou um salto com relacao ao nivel de investimentos diretos realizados ate entao pela empresa. O caso descreve a trajetoria da Sabo desde a sua fundacao, focalizando o momento que precedeu o surgimento da oportunidade de aquisicao da Kaco, culminando com uma descricao da situacao atual da empresa. Tambem retrata o ambiente competitivo setorial enfrentado pelos fabricantes brasileiros de autopecas no momento da decisao, possibilitando a contextualizacao do caso em relacao ao processo de abertura comercial, acelerada pelo qual a economia brasileira estava passando, e das mudancas estruturais que ocorriam com a industria automobilistica e sua cadeia de suprimentos a epoca. On the other hand, there are several factors that contribute to the organizations to become more homogenous. In this context, this study aims to observe, analyse and discuss the materialization of barriers to the adoption of innovations and the main opportunities underlying the road transport of passengers sector, considering the interpretation of three strategic actors of companies from this sector in the state of Parana. A theoretical referential is analysed and adopted. The methodology consista in a descriptive and exploratory case study. The type of research adopted was the exploratory-descriptive. For the investigation of the present research, the employed approach was the case study. The development of the BSC methodology was split in 5 stages. The first one presented the management tools, mainly with the use of data obtained through primary sources. Following this, there was a description of the requirements for the utilization of the BSC. The third stage defined the development of the BSC methodology. In the fourth stage, the objectives of the institution were detailed. Last but not least, the fifth stage presented the strategic map. Based on data analysis, there was also a dimensioning of the current status of the institution management. The local development through f the interaction among universities, companies and government has been the shortest way for technological learning and innovation. This article has the objective to identify the mechanisms of technological learning, driven by the interaction between the agents who form the productive cluster of dinnerware in Campo Largo - Parana. This cluster is responsible for 90% of the national production, generating approximately 4,000 direct and indirect jobs in the State. The theoretical framework is given by the Triple Helix model, developed by Etzkowitz and Leydesdorff (1997). It evaluates the technological innovation as resulted of the interaction between the agents: government, companies and university. The research was carried by means of a case study evolving a collection of the data in fifteen companies. It is identified some actions that already are presenting results, as it is the case of a project of “glue under pressure” and the celebration of the international agreement to the construction of a technological center of ceramics. National sugarcane industry reached the number one world competitive index and efficiency patterns, but the industrial sugarcane cluster located in the Northeast region, did not achieve to follow the other region success in reaching these competitive patterns. Many aspects can explain this gap in competiviness between the two sugarcane production regions. Differences in soil, climatic and topographic conditions are the basic points. In Center-South the harvest is mainly mechanized increasing substantially the production efficiency with great impacts in cost reductions. The substantial difference in cost-efficiency patterns, both in the agricultural and in the industrial systems equilibrium, increases even more the competitiveness gap between these two sugarcane based industrial regions. {"title":"Potencial de liderança criativa em equipes de trabalho de empresas de base tecnológica incubadas","authors":"A. V. Gallon, S. Based on this perspective, this article examines the potential for creative leadership in work teams of incubated technology-based (ITB) firms, by means of an intervention tool based on the Creative Leadership Model – Team Factor Inventory (TFI). This descriptive research consists of a multiple-case study and involved administering the TFI to the owner-managers of nine of the fourteen resident companies in an ITB incubator. The findings reveal that the Atmosphere and Own Ideas factors display higher average scores, while the Share Vision factor presents the lowest; among the variables, Creativity and Productivity stand out, and regarding leadership style, the average of the Transformational Leadership variable outdoes the Transactional Leadership. Atraves de estudo realizado no Canada, analisa os modelos de transferencia de tecnologia com a criacao de empresas de base tecnologica (EBT’s) e com licenciamentos de patentes, comparando os resultados em termos de geracao de empregos e renda. Demonstra a definicao de EBT, empreendedorismo tecnologico e processo de inovacao, bem como as defesas e controversias sobre a criacao de empresas a partir da pesquisa aplicada. Em seguida apresenta tendencias mundiais das pesquisas subsidiadas, e compara o modelo tradicional de pesquisa com o modelo sinergico que estimula a transferencia de tecnologia. The objective of the mathematical model construction was to investigate the dynamics of diffusion of innovations as, for instance, the propagation of knowledge or technologies among small rural producers. The main obtained results based on the simulation were: a) the technology characteristics seem to have no influence on the speed of the adoption of new technologies. This result can be associated to the fact that agricultural activities already need high risk investments; b) the social ties in the producer networks evidenced to be an important mechanism for diffusion of technologies. The mechanisms of social ties, in general, involve investments of low costs because normally they already exist among the producers.
