We assume the coating to be either homogeneous (elastic moduli are constant) or functionally graded (elastic moduli vary by depth). The solution of the problem is constructed using the bilateral asymptotic method. One-parameter approximation of the kernel transform of the integral equation is used to obtain explicit analytical expressions for the contact stresses distribution as well as the load-displacement dependence in a simplified form, which is convenient for engineering calculations. The accuracy analysis of the obtained solution is carried out on example of a series of homogeneous and functionally graded coatings. The performance of these passivation materials are analyzed using Technological Computer Aided Design (TCAD) simulation. The potential, polarization charge, energy band diagram of the GaN HEMT are analyzed. GaN device with AlN passivation exhibits higher drain current than other passivation materials. Hence, AlN passivation is an excellent passivation material for GaN-HEMT in higher drive current application.","PeriodicalId":182421,"journal":{"name":"SECOND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON MATERIAL SCIENCE, SMART STRUCTURES AND APPLICATIONS: ICMSS-2019","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124893247","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The request to design compact and lightweight systems has recently led to a reduction of the combustor-turbine axial gap, making the interaction between the HPT and the combustor extremely critical. For this reason, the main aim of the present work is to numerically study how different clocking positions between temperature distortions and stator vanes can affect the evolution of hot streaks and entropy waves. In order to validate the numerical results, experimental data coming from an un-cooled high-pressure gas turbine stage tested at the Laboratorio di Fluidodinamica delle Macchine (LFM) of the Politecnico di Milano (Italy) has been used. Especially considering the performances of current turbofan engines, even a modest increase in overall efficiency can lead to great benefits in terms of emissions reduction. Therefore, dedicated performance prediction tools are mandatory in order to carry out an estimation of such outputs. The aim of the present study is to develop a procedure devoted to a preliminary output prediction of an aero engine for civil transportation and an uncertainty quantification analysis based on main performance parameters. For the first step, following the strategy already adopted in previous work on this topic [1], the GEnX, a high-bypass turbofan engine, has been considered as the reference cases. The main design characteristics available from the constructor for this engine have been employed to model the engine with a 0-D numerical tool (ESMS), developed by the University of Florence [2].
