This paper details how this approach can be used to predict average busway impedance with reasonable accuracy, and therefore help in reducing the number of physical tests and related costs in the design process. Four cases are provided for validation purposes. To robustly stabilize the system, an objective function that minimizes the infinity norm of the closed-loop system is introduced such that the parameters of a fixed structure PSS are optimally tuned and the controller stabilizes a pre-specified set of system models. The PBIL-PSS is compared with the Conventional PSS (CPSS). The simulation results presented in this paper show that the proposed PBIL- PSS is more effective than the Conventional PSS in damping the low frequency oscillations. The performance of the proposed PSS is also evaluated using the Real Time Digital Simulator (RTDS). The biomedical engineering, for example, has been experiencing major advances in the research on the application of LEDs in the treatment of pre-malignant or even malignant skin lesions, rejuvenation treatments, acne, hair loss, skin injuries and post- operative incisions recovery and in the psychological improvement of patients where the LED lights can be applied. The driver topologies to supply these LEDs also has been experienced remarkable improvement, regarding the application of different light intensity control techniques, colour distribution besides current output and power optimization. This might even affect the generators and as a result, critical loads might suffer from power deficiency for a long time and ultimately lead to a complete system collapse. A fast reconfiguration of the power path is therefore necessary in order to serve the critical loads and to maintain a proper power balance in ship power system. This paper proposes a fast, intelligent reconfiguration algorithm, where Pareto optimal solutions are obtained by Small Population based Particle Swarm Optimization (SPPSO) from two conflicting objective functions. From the Pareto set, the final solution is chosen depending on users' preference. SPPSO is a variant of PSO which works with very few numbers of particles with a regeneration of new solutions within the search space after few iterations. This concept of regeneration in SPPSO make the algorithm really fast and enhances its capability to a large extent. The energy in hybrid system is balanced by the dc bus voltage regulation. The principle is based on frequency approach that the FC dynamics are limited to avoid fuel starvation problems and the battery dynamics are also limited to reduce its stress. As a result, the hybrid power source will increase its lifetime. To authenticate the proposed control algorithm, a hardware system in our laboratory is realized by analog circuits and numerical calculation by dSPACE. The passive filters are designed to compensate high power grinding mill drives energized from cycloconverters. This challenge is exacerbated by the hostile hot metal rolling environment which precludes the location of sensors to measure variables that are important for control. In addition, the controller must have a structure that offers a high degree of physical intuition in the design process, plus the simplicity of tuning during commissioning by personnel who in general are unfamiliar with advanced process control techniques. Based on our previous work using a state-dependent Riccati equation technique for control of the tandem cold metal rolling process, it is considered that a similar method also might be useful as a basis for the development of a control technique for tandem hot strip rolling. For the hot rolling process, the development of a process model in a form that is suitable for use with a state-dependent Riccati equation-based method is a significant and challenging task. This paper describes our work to expand on an initial portion of this model to develop a comprehensive nonlinear model of this process. Based on simulation results, it is determined that the complete model has the potential to be useful in the development of a viable nonlinear control method which offers the likelihood for significant improvement in the control of the entire process. To weaken the effects of the torque ripple for further applications of DSEM such as wind power generation and aerospace, in-depth analysis of the ripple generation mechanism and two novel strategies of inner torque loop and torque distribution control are presented in this paper. In conclusion, simulation and comparative analysis of the two strategies are conducted with a 2kW 12/8 DSEM prototype. The simulation results demonstrate that, compared with traditional control methods, the two novel torque control strategies can effectively suppress DSEM torque ripple. elimination method to calculate the ideal current with which no torque ripple are incurred, and suppress the torque ripple of doubly-fed DSEM with the ideal current. This method is oriented toward skewed slot machines and the calculation of ideal current is relatively complicated. (18) put forward the method of torque closed loop control strategy of a novel DSPM speed control system. Compared with traditional inner current loop control strategy, smaller torque ripple and more stable speed are realized with the novel speed control system. However, (18) did not take into consideration of the influences on DSPM torque output caused by the current distortion of inner torque loop control strategy. (19) increased DSPM output torque in the commutation interval by forwarding the on-time and delaying the off-time of the power tubes. The method reduces DSPM torque ripple but gives rise to phase current distortion and is only applicable in low-speed occasions. (20) proposed the combined method of commutation control in the software as well as detailed classification of forward angles to reduce the torque ripple. The proposed autonomous wind energy conversion system (AWECS) is using back-to-back-connected pulsewidth-modulated insulated-gate-bipolar-transistor-based voltage source converters with a battery energy storage system at their dc link. The system utilizes separate rotor-side converters for each DFIG for maximum power tracking (MPT) through its rotor speed control. However, a common dc bus and a battery bank and stator-side converter are used for voltage and frequency control at the stator terminals of the DFIGs. A delta-star transformer is connected between the stator-side converter and the stator terminals of DFIGs for optimizing the voltage of dc bus, and the load-side neutral is connected to the neutral of the star side of the transformer. The proposed electromechanical system is modeled and simulated in MATLAB using Simulink and Sim Power Systems set toolboxes. The controller is a simplification of the conventional fuzzy PI controller that results in a one-dimensional rule table and piecewise linear control surface. The employment of a look-up table to construct the control surface provides faster computation time without compromising the performance. For verification purposes, a single-phase inverter prototype is constructed and the proposed control algorithm is implemented using dSPACE DS1104.
