This study using a qualitative methodology descriptive. case with the approach. The data collection techniques used in this research is a questionnaire, interview and documentation. The data analysis using a method of triangulation and obtain information or data from various sources to verify the data. While in general, this research aims to (1) Describe the leadership of the principal in improving the professional competence of teachers in the digital age. (2) Know the supporting and inhibiting factors of the principal in improving the professional competence of teachers in the digital age. The result of this research was obtained that the implementation of the type of leadership of the principal at SMA Negeri 4 OKU by the principal received a good response from subordinates, it’s namely democratically, he always gave a good example to the teacher, so there is an improvement in the competence of the teacher's personality, delegate the teachers incidental related to the duties of officially and provide motivation to students, and open attitude becomes a place of consultation and implementation through decision making related to increasing the professionalism of teachers through meetings or deliberations, show how the way teachers are happy to carry out the verdict and feel satisfaction. The supporting factor of the principal’s leadership type in improving the professional competence of teachers at SMA Negeri 4 OKU is adequate from infrastructure facilities, thus supporting the teaching, training or learning process in schools. The principal and teachers were the sources of data for this research. Techniques for data gathering: 1) observation, (2) interviews, (3) documentation. Techniques for Data Analysis (1) data reduction, (2) presentation of data, (3) verification of data. This type of research was descriptive qualitative research. Data collection tools used were documentation, interviews, observation and literature review. The data analysis technique used was descriptive qualitative analysis technique which consisted of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and fermentation. The results of the study stated that 1) the principal's strategy in increasing competitiveness at SD Negeri 1 Supat, Babat Supat District a) planning a program to improve the quality and competitiveness of the school both in the short and long term; b) determine the program that has been planned in the form of an activity instrument which is carried out in SD Negeri 1 Supat, Babat Supat District; and c) implement the strategy set by the school; 2) The obstacles faced in efforts to increase competitiveness lie in efforts to improve the quality of learning at SD Negeri 1 Supat; and 3) Solutions to some of the obstacles faced in increasing competitiveness through the quality of learning at SD Negeri 1 Supat, among others by: a) implementing continuous coaching to increase the experience and knowledge of teachers; b) supervise teachers as well as evaluate and provide direction for improvement. With a descriptive approach, this approach involves quantitative methods. 105 participants consisted of the researh population. There were 79 people in the research sample. In this research, the sampling technique is Simple Random Sampling. The technique of using a questionnaire was used to gather data. Using a Likert Scale to weigh values. Validity, reliability, descriptive analysis, inferential analysis (prerequisite test and classical assumption test), multiple linear regression analysis, hypothesis analysis (t test and F test) and determination coefficient analysis were used to analyze the results. Data analysis was carried out in a descriptive-qualitative manner consisting of words, phrases, or sentences in poetry. The results of the research are in the form of rhetorical means, consisting of simile, metaphor, personification, and synecdoche display, repetition structure manipulation, parallelism, polysyndeton, asyndeton, hyperbole, rhetoric, and climax, as well as images of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and motion. The function of rhetoric means is to intensify, enliven, provide clarity of imaginary images, aesthetically, emphasize, rhetorically, generate more effective associations of meaning, make it concrete, and make it easier to imagine. The dominant use of rhetorical means, in structural manipulation, is parallelism and repetition, in images are images of motion, sight, and hearing, in a presentation are metaphors and personifications. The purpose of this study is to find and describe efforts to improve education standards and education personnel in schools in terms of: planning, implementing and supervising education, influencing, directing teachers and school staff in improving the quality of education. As stated in the National Education Standards (SNP) article 1 No. 17 of Law 20/2003 on National Education System and article 3 of Government Regulation No. 19 Year 20015 that: \"Where SNP functions as the basis for planning, implementation and supervision of education at the level of education to realize a national education that is of good quality and aiming at guaranteeing the quality of national education in the framework of educating the life of the State and forming a dignified national civilization \". In expressing these things the writer uses a qualitative research approach. To extract data and information from informants, the authors used participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documents in the research data collection process. This research uses qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive approach. The location of this research is SMP Negeri in MuaraTelangBanyuasin District. Data collection was carried out using observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis using data reduction techniques, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Checking the validity of the findings is done by observing persistence, triangulation and reference adequacy. The results of this study explain the positive and significant role of principal academic supervision in improving the professionalism of teachers of SMP Negeri in MuaraTelang District, Banyuasin. Through discussion of the implementation of academic supervision, the results of academic supervision, and the inhibiting factors for academic supervision of school principals.
