The proposed solution is based on CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) IP (Internet Protocol) cameras, communication network and server and client video applications running in a virtual environment. The proposed monitoring and surveillance solution aims at improving the existing solutions for security and safety in airports. While using the virtual environment for hosting the server and client applications, the designed solution allows the user to not be hardware dependent by using “of the shelves” inexpensive hardware platforms for virtualization.","PeriodicalId":174623,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 21st International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131215896","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mechanical faults are considered and introduced by bearings fixed on rotating shaft. A universal electric motor spins the shaft at known and imposed angular speed, acceleration sensors are used to measure the vibration, and the useful signals are introduced in Matlab/Simulink workspace via data acquisition toolbox and high speed acquisition board. Aim is to determine typical patterns of vibrations caused by mechanical faults and critical loads. The faulty element could be a ball in the bearing, a broken ring, or a misaligned shaft/bearing/load. A gearbox between the sensors and the faulty element is considered to study the spectrum translation of the vibration, according to the speed ratio of the gearbox. A controlled load, consisting in a DC motor and a power MOS-FET across its terminals is used to induce step variations in the load of the main motor/shaft.","PeriodicalId":174623,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 21st International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133019081","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They are mostly used in generating non-reproducible and non-deterministic patterns used in different cryptographic protocols. A True Random Number Generator basically consists of three main components: a noise generator, that is based on a physical incontrollable phenomenon, a randomness extractor (for assuring that the generated bits are uniformly distributed), and a randomness testing battery. Over the last years, since the hardware technologies evolved, the random number generation became (once more) an attractive research field, channeling a lot of efforts from the research communities worldwide. As a consequence, the True Random Number Generation process became more detailed and was elaborated in international standards (for example the NIST -National Institute of Standards and Technology- standard). This paper presents some novel practical approaches on True Random Number Generation, and some personal deviations of some classical approaches, using the most common noise generator, based on oscillators jitter, used in different contexts and variations, implemented in FPGA logic. Moreover, the paper describes the whole generation process, presenting, in comparison, the testing results of the generators shown in the paper.","PeriodicalId":174623,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 21st International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"329 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133023341","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To avoid this hidden mechanism, investigations have to be made to determine the whiskering tendency of different materials at different conditions and loads. The paper gives an overview of the latest knowledge about whisker formation, the yet tested factors which might influence their growth. Finally, some open questions are determined for future experiments.","PeriodicalId":174623,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 21st International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130328246","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents an automatic system and a study of the electrical energy storage in a battery EDLC (Electrochemical Double Layer Capacitor-) that allows 300,000 charge / discharge cycles. It can also study its variation over time and temperature behavior. The leakage current has a large variation in time and, especially, is dependent on ambient temperature. The electronic system developed enables automatic determination of the evolution in time of parameters (ten days) of EDLC without human supervision. The paper presents specific features of EDLC families which are very important for developers of applications in automotive and green energy storage.","PeriodicalId":174623,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 21st International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123574801","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However the most used teaching methods at universities, based on individual assignments or group projects while do address the creativity, fall back on the critical thinking and even in team work skill. Collaborative learning was long suggested as a good alternative for enhancing these skills and recent evolution in social coding sites and collaborative software development give a new opportunity to employ such teaching method. This paper presents the results of a collaborative learning experiment carried out by using GitHub in laboratory assignments, where the main focus was on the direct interaction of the students on each other's learning process. The soldering may be accomplished in air or into a nitrogen atmosphere, this last case being the solution that gives better connections. For practice purposes, since this technology increases the production costs, it is important to be known, at least with a good approximation, the quantity of nitrogen that must be used in the reflow soldering process for a specific situation. To obtain the needed dynamical performances supposes a good knowledge of the system and is based firstly on the inverter small signal model. This model can be obtained by imposing some simplifications and because of this reason it has a limited validity and strongly depends on the static operating point around which the linearization is made. This paper presents another solution for the resonant inverters command based on fuzzy command logic, which does not need a precise mathematical model and complicated calculations. This solution imposes only a qualitative understanding of system operation and the ability to extract a set of rules that characterize the system functioning. This paper contains a study of the influence it has the choice of membership functions and fuzzy command rules on the resonant inverter dynamic performances. For the developed simulations was used MATLAB software environment and it was followed fuzzy controllers behavior various perturbations. The obtained results allow the formulation of useful design rules for the fuzzy controllers.","PeriodicalId":174623,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 21st International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128941350","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
