Innovative analysis technologies were employed for the development of the new system. The proposed solution relies on a server application referred to as “Third Party Core” installed on a hardware platform residing in the same network with the video monitoring systems and other security systems. This server application uses data captured by video cameras, other security systems (e.g. access control, intrusion detection, radar surveillance) field equipment, data gathered and used in other server application (e.g. database servers, storage servers, other system servers) with to purpose of integrating different functionalities, unify the operator - machines interfaces, predict events, assist operators in video surveillance and improve the security of perimeter. The new server application can easily run on regular low cost hardware platforms (e.g. server or station available on the IT market) and was developed using SQL, C++ and languages connectors.","PeriodicalId":174623,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 21st International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122349502","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Planar magnetic structures have multiple advantages as compared to conventional wound technology, being used in supply systems that require low profile magnetic components and high power density. Over time, literature has shown that the losses in planar structures working at high frequency may conduct to important power losses. This paper performs a thorough analysis regarding power losses due to high frequency operation, leading to multiple levels of optimization for a given virtual model represented by a planar ferrite core transformer. Using computational methods a planar transformer model with E+PLT core has been designed to operate at 1MHz. The analysis will be made using the Finite Element Method (FEM) provided by Ansys Maxwell 3D in order to investigate the magnetic density flux distribution in the core and current density in the windings.","PeriodicalId":174623,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 21st International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114408684","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We designed and realized an electronic pills dispenser with seven circular containers. The dispenser is realized around PIC18F458 microcontroller which controls all the function of the dispenser. Using a keyboard and an LCD, the user can easily set the hour when the pills will be supplied on a plate. When the time for medication is arrived, a dose of medication is released and an audio alarm is generated. If the patient does not take the dose prescribed by the doctor, an SMS is sent to a phone number.","PeriodicalId":174623,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 21st International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129782985","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The educational tool is capable to represents in a 3D environment the electric and magnetic radiations from a short current element or a small loop of current. Through this tool, the students will be able to observe the impact that different physical and electrical proprieties, which characterize the two circuit elements, have on the electromagnetic radiation components in near and far field region. The tool will allow a complete analysis, without resorting to simplified mathematical equations, which describe the electric and magnetic field components that radiate from the two electric circuit elements. By doing so, the region of transition between near and far field can also be analyzed properly.","PeriodicalId":174623,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 21st International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"82 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121212033","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Changes of the capacitance, the loss factor and nonlinearity of the current-voltage characteristic were examined during ageing. It was found that changes of the capacitance are very low, whereas changes of the loss factor and nonlinearity are higher. But the loss factor of the capacitors is in the order of units of 10-4. Given the small value of the loss factor, even small changes in the structure of the capacitor could cause a large change in this parameter. As for current-voltage characteristic nonlinearity it was found that ageing can cause significant changes of this parameter. Therefore it can be used as an effective tool for evaluation of ageing of this type of capacitors. The highest value of nonlinearity was observed for capacitors Arcotronic. It is assumed that the cause is re-building of the metallization of the PP film by thermal ageing.","PeriodicalId":174623,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 21st International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129892744","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the attempt to stem the decrease of students' motivation in pursuing the study of technological disciplines, the system's response was to organize outdoor laboratories or to locate them in spaces dedicated to scientific research along with applying the PBL (Project Based Learning) method. This paper analyzes the impact produced by this strategy on the course of EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) taught at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, for the study programmes Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics. The details of the implemented strategy are also presented. The presentation comprises the new types of laboratories, which are described in the study, along with an analysis of the obtained results based on objective statistical data (course attendance and marks obtained by the students) as well as on subjective data (collected from questionnaires applied to students). The results of the study confirmed the positive impact of the implemented strategy; the number of students who completed the proposed elective project increased along with the average of the marks obtained by them.","PeriodicalId":174623,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 21st International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126971061","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper investigates a method to supply the LED that tries to keep the LED junction temperature close to the ambient temperature. A comparison has been made between a LED supplied on DC “constant-current” and a LED supplied by constant-current pulses. The paper shows how constant-current pulses contribute on the optimal operation of LEDs maintaining the temperature at low values. Maintaining the junction temperature as low as possible will raise the reliability of the LED (Arrhenius Law). Finally, the paper presents the measurement results according to the developed vehicle test.","PeriodicalId":174623,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 21st International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125419771","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Every new technology brings advantages and some disadvantages by increasing systems complexity closely related with the technological progress. The widespread use of portable devices, conclude that security and power consumption are characteristics that must be considered in terms of increased duration with improved performance and minimum cost in such systems. This becomes the motivation of a wide research range in optimizing the Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) power consumption. In our research we investigate the possible solutions in order to reduce WSN energy consumption designed for continuous monitoring application. The question is how we manage the energy consumption of secure systems with wireless data transmission, in fact how to optimize the Energy Saving Strategy (ESS).","PeriodicalId":174623,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 21st International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123475092","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Random Number Generators split into two categories: True Random Number Generators (based on physical non-deterministic processes, like the jitter of an oscillator) and Pseudo Random Number Generators (based on mathematical properties, where the output at the time t is based somehow on the output on time t-1). It is well known that the output distribution of a Random Number Generator (either True or Pseudo) output tends toward 50%. There are some particular cases where this probability must be different (some of these situations will be described here) and this paper will present a way of obtaining this. The novelty of this paper is based on a new approach on the classic Gollmann Cascade PRNG and starting from this, the development of a FPGA implementation to increase its security.","PeriodicalId":174623,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 21st International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125249175","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
