Four different mixtures of date palm leave and cattle feces were compared in terms of the amount of produced biogas and the chemical composition of the fermentation effluent slurry. The different mixtures were 100% cattle feces, 10% cattle feces with 90% palm leaves, 20% cattle feces with 80% palm leaves and 50 % cattle feces with 50% palm leaves). The contents of methane and carbon dioxide of the biogas produced daily were recorded. Salmonella and total fecal coliforms were counted in the influent and effluent. The results showed that palm leaves can be used to produce biogas by anaerobic fermentation after mixing it with cattle feces. It was possible to obtain the highest yield of biogas when mixing palm leaves with cattle feces at a ratio of 50:50%. The effluent slurries of different mixtures of palm leaves with cattle feces can be used as an excellent organic fertilizer because it contains phytonutrients and organic matter.","PeriodicalId":17094,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Soil Sciences and Agricultural Engineering","volume":"17 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87983675","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The site of experiment was located at El-Hamoal, Kafr El-Sheikh –Egypt. The goal of study to investigate the effect of different treatments application such as (urea, gypsum, compost and farmyard manure) as well as their duality treatments and water depths on saline soil properties and productivity of rice ( Oryza sativa , cv Giza179). The main findings were displayed as following. All treatments reduced the bulk density (BD), electrical conductivity (EC), pH under saline soil condition except urea treatment. Compost + gypsum treatment under 10 cm water depth caused the lowest value of BD, EC, pH of surface soil in both seasons, Meanwhile hydraulic conductivity, total porosity, organic matter increased in two saline soil layers by applying different soil treatments and two water depths especially 10 cm except urea treatment at rice harvesting in the two study seasons. The lowest values of soil nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium contents were found in control plots. Meanwhile, the highest values of the increments were obtained by the duality treatment of the tested materials in soil layers of the two seasons. A significant and progressive increment in all different rice yield components with application of soil treatments and water depths especially at 10 cm. Additionally, the duality treatment of the tested materials seemed to be the most effective treatment in increasing measured","PeriodicalId":17094,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Soil Sciences and Agricultural Engineering","volume":"34 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80054420","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Effect of the drying temperature (40, 50, 60, and 70°C) on the moisture ratio and drying rate has been investigated. A constant level of air flow rate of 0.087 m 3 s -1 was used and constant dimensions for tilapia fillets of 80 x 30 x 5 mm of length, width and thickness respectively. Seven different widely used thin layer drying models were fitted to the experimental drying data of fresh tilapia fillets under different conditions using nonlinear fitting techniques. Four statistical parameters, including coefficient of determination, standard error, reduced chi-square, and root mean square error, were used to compare all models. The obtained results showed that the drying process took place in falling rate periods. The result also showed that average value of determination coefficient in exponential linear combination model was 0.9988, and standard error, root mean square error and corresponding reduced chi-square values were 0.106, 0.0096 and 0.0001, respectively, which indicated that “exponential linear combination model” is the best of studied models for describing drying curves of fresh tilapia fillets. Sulfur plays a basic role in plant development and growth processes. Potassium is the most rich cationic and essential nutrient. It is very important for crop yield and its tolerance to abiotic stresses. Is it possible that the effect of the interaction between them will be more effective in resisting salinity?. Two field experiments were operated on a clayey soil for two summer seasons .The treatments are a split-plot design included the influences of using agricultural sulfur without addition, 300 Kg ha -1 and 650 Kg ha -1 were applied on soil, while the sub plots were occupied by foliar applications of potassium as potassium citrate without addition, 36% and 45% . Sulfur application in soil and potassium foliar levels were improving plant height, no. of productive tillers hill -1 , dry weigh, 1000-grains weight, grain yield, straw yield and NPK uptake of rice plant. Soil addition of sulfur was attributed positively in modifying bulk density (g cm -3 ) by reduced it, modifying total porosity % by increased it and features via decreasing pH, EC and ESP% in the soil. An attempt to reach the highest efficiency of irrigation water use and the maximum response of an economical oil crop to modern irrigation systems anddeficit irrigationin the canola crop. Results of the values of ET o through the canola growing season were 839.88 mm/season. Reference evapotranspiration (ET o ) measured for sowing and harvest were 211.03 mm and 156.6 mm. The total water requirements (m 3 /fed.) were 2573.4, 2058.7 and 1544.0 under 100%, 80% and 60%, respectively. According to the findings, the dry zone began with soil in subsurface drip (SSI 223 ) and expanded as the drip line depth & deficit irrigation rose more so than surface drip (SI 11 ). Additionally, the highest yield of seeds, oil, protein (kg/fed.) and irrigation water productivity are the results of 100% water requirements under various treatments. Meanwhile, the application of 60 % water requirements under different treatments gave the lowest ones. The maximum seed, oil, and protein yield were achieved for the SI 11 treatment, which was higher by 98.1%, 97.7% and 99.2% as compared with (SSI 223 ) treatment, respectively. The water use efficiency of canola was highest in SI 11 treatment (0.368 kg/m 3 ). But lowest value in SSI 223 was 0.011 kg/m 3 . The drier was also equipped with three axial flow fans to supply air over the samples to carry the evaporated moisture. The passing air was adjusted at three different temperatures (40, 50 and 60 o C) and constant air velocity of 2 m/s. During the experiments, grapes were dried to final moisture content (19.96 – 13.87) % from 292.46 ±1 % dry basis. It has been found that, both air temperature and infra-red radiation intensity affect the course and rate of drying. The gained data were fitted to two thin layer drying models: Lewis model and Henderson and Pabis's model. The examined models were compared using R 2 , SE, χ 2 , MBE and RMSE. Lewis’s model is the best for describing the drying curve of Crimson seedless grapes. A diffusion model was used to describe the transfer of moisture and the effective diffusivity at each drying temperature and radiation intensity. The effective diffusivity; varied between 6.8632x10 -11 to 6.4057x10 −10 m 2 /s and was significantly affected by radiation intensity. The average value of activation energy was 4.2515 kW/kg.
