To serve as a basis for hospital quality improvement activities, we conducted a study to describe the current state of clinical nurses' symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress during the COVID-19 epidemic and identify some relevant factors at Hanoi Medical University Hospital in 2022. Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 225 nurses from clinical departments - at Hanoi Medical University Hospital from February 28, 2022, to April 14, 2022. The DASS-21 scale was applied in this study. Result: The rate of symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress was 48.4%, 42.2%; 8.4%, respectively. Community response and lack of patient cooperation were risk factors for all three disorders. In addition, the frequency of duty and treatment affected the manifestations of depression; marital status, and isolation affected anxiety expression; protection, relationships at the hospital, and reasons for participating in epidemic prevention and control were factors affecting stress expression. Recommendation: For nursing staff who go directly to fight against the epidemic, the hospital's union has a policy of taking care of their families and providing timely support so that employees can work with peace of mind.","PeriodicalId":170809,"journal":{"name":"Tạp chí Y tế Công cộng","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131020710","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We aimed to describe the characteristics and determine associated factors with the severe state of disease among COVID-19 hospitalized patients within six first months in 2022. Methods: A case – control study was conducted among 3.242 COVID-19 patients in two provincial hospitals in Bac Ninh and Nghe An from January to June 2022. Cases were defined as severe or critical COVID-19 patients and controls were COVID-19 patients who were classified into the mild group during 24-first-hour admission. We used an online research health record to collect patient’s information. Multivariable logistic regression was utilized to explore and decide associated factors with the severity of COVID-19 among participants. Results: The percentage of patients who were classified into the severe disease group at admission time was 20.0%. Respiratory symptoms (70.3%) and fatigue (30.6%) were the most common ones recorded when patients were admitted to the ward. Older age, male, pre-comorbidities such as diabetes, chronic cardiovascular or pulmonary disease increased the likelihood to have severe COVID-19 disease. D-dimer ≥ 500 ng/ml, aspartate aminotransferase enzyme (AST) > 37 U/L, the percentage of lymphocytes in blood < 20%, and C-reactive protein (CRP) ≥ 5 mg/l were identified as prognostic factors for severity within 24-first-hour admission. Two primary doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and boosted doses significantly decreased the chance to have severe COVID-19. Conclusions: Our findings highlighted that it is important to monitor patients and early diagnoses with the help of prognostic factors. Moreover, widely supplying two primary and boosted doses of the COVID-19 vaccine for people, especially for the high-risk population is necessary.","PeriodicalId":170809,"journal":{"name":"Tạp chí Y tế Công cộng","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130159684","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, in Vietnam, due to the lack of facilities and CBR human resources, the rehabilitation needs of PWDs were not met. Thanh Chuong is a district that has implemented CBR activities at commune health stations for PWDs, in conjunction with the project on victims of the toxic chemical Dioxin. Several duties have been assigned to commune health workers as stated in the CBR program, yet commune health workers were not assigned specifically to do rehabilitation tasks. This study aims to describe the current status of CBR activities at commune health stations, in Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An Province in 2022. The study used a cross-sectional design, mixed methods were employed. The study was conducted from December 2021 to August 2022. Qualitative data are analyzed thematically. Participants were mainly female, about half of them aged 30-49 years old, most of them are nursing, and general medical staff and no staff had a rehabilitation background. The level of performance and confidence in performing the tasks were similar. Among the 8 tasks assigned to the commune health stations, 3 tasks have been performed in 38 communes at different levels including making management records, classifying PWDs, and reporting on transferring PWDs to higher levels. However, these activities are not carried out properly and sufficiently and there was no list of people with disabilities. It is necessary to review the list of CBR activities and have policies to support these activities at the grassroots level, especially to have a health worker in charge of CBR available to fully implement the program's activities, thus helping PWDs integrate into the community, and reducing caring burden or caregivers for PWDs.","PeriodicalId":170809,"journal":{"name":"Tạp chí Y tế Công cộng","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123422829","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

School health has received the attention of the Party and the Government as reflected in laws, resolutions, and decisions facilitating the legal framework in the implementation. However, there are still many difficulties and challenges in the implementation. This paper reviews existing policies and guidelines on school health in Vietnam; assesses the implementation of school health activities, difficulties, and challenges in the implementation. Methods: Descriptive study design combining desk review, and qualitative and quantitative methods were applied. In-depth interviews and focus group discussions with leaders of health sectors, education sectors, home affairs, and social insurance sectors at commune, district, and provincial levels; School administrators, school health staff at all levels of education from kindergarten, primary school, and secondary school, and high school have been implemented in 5 provinces of 5 regions of Vietnam. Results: The policy documents on school health in Vietnam have been issued quite fully, which were the legal basis for localities to perform well. However, there were still many difficulties and challenges due to gaps in regulations on conditions to ensure the operation of school health. Survey results in 05 provinces in 2017 with 5.540 schools at all levels show that: 89.9% of schools have school health staff; 56.5% of the schools have school-based health staff and the rest is contracted. The rate of non-medical school staff is 37.5%. Regarding the benefits and regimes of schools, health staff is facing many difficulties. The training was implemented annually; however, the training quality is not enough. The budget for investment in school health activities is still difficult, not meeting the demand. Conclusions: the legal documents were adequate to facilitate the implementation of school health activities.
