This infinite chain is comprised of infinitely long dielectric coated circular metal cylinders periodically located in a free space. The obtained approximations have been derived on the basis of the long wave approximation for the diffraction problem of a plane electromagnetic wave on the cylindrical chain using the Effective Medium Theory. Comparisons of the analytically obtained results with the numerically calculated ones have made in the study.","PeriodicalId":167305,"journal":{"name":"2018 9th International Conference on Ultrawideband and Ultrashort Impulse Signals (UWBUSIS)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123836545","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The insert was made in the form of a stopper. The effective irradiation is registered when the VSWR at the system input equals nearly 1. This level can be achieved by means of changing the stopper location. In the math model, the outer region is supposed to be a half-space homogeneously filled with dielectric, which may be dissipative. The geometry of irradiated objects is not taken into account. The frequency region, where an effective irradiation takes place, highly depends on the slot length and on an outer dielectric permittivity. The purpose of the paper is to find the frequency at which the effective irradiation takes place.","PeriodicalId":167305,"journal":{"name":"2018 9th International Conference on Ultrawideband and Ultrashort Impulse Signals (UWBUSIS)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125183534","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Optimal designs of these antennas with concentrated reactive loads included in the shoulders are proposed. The study was carried out for a design that appears promising for use as a microstrip antenna. It is a Z-shaped antenna of orthogonal linear polarization and loop antenna, supplemented by concentrated capacitive loads. It is shown that in order to obtain in the Z-shaped antenna and loop antenna a regime of a current close to the traveling wave regime and to obtain broadband, it is sufficient to include no more than four capacitive loads of a certain value in the antenna arm. This makes it possible to simplify the construction of a broadband antenna and to reduce the expenditure of time and resources for its development and fabrication in comparison with known works in which it was proposed to include in the arm of the antenna a much larger number of reactive loads.","PeriodicalId":167305,"journal":{"name":"2018 9th International Conference on Ultrawideband and Ultrashort Impulse Signals (UWBUSIS)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124011768","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Wave disturbances over a number of European cities are detected which have periods of 50 - 60 min and durations of 120 - 180 min. Their amplitudes are of 0.8 - 2 TECU and exhibit positive correlation with Hurst exponent values. The fractional bandwidth is of 0.67 - 1.14 for all analyzed signals. The solution for all components of electromagnetic field is received by means of Riemann function method for Klein-Gordon equation for time dependence of current in form of Heaviside function. Using Duhamel integral the generalization of the solution for arbitrary time dependence is obtained. Amplitude and energy characteristics of radiated field are investigated for different observation distances and angles as well as time shapes of exciting current.
