This infinite chain is comprised of infinitely long dielectric coated circular metal cylinders periodically located in a free space. The obtained approximations have been derived on the basis of the long wave approximation for the diffraction problem of a plane electromagnetic wave on the cylindrical chain using the Effective Medium Theory.
