The proposed computational algorithms are based on previously developed iterative schemes for solving inverse scattering problems by a procedure of minimizing the auxiliary residual functional. To carry out computational experiments the initial data synthesized by software constructing the Green function for corresponding direct diffraction problems are used. The values of electrical and geometric parameters of plane-layer media were chosen primarily based on the specifics of the problems of nondestructive control of road pavements and other building structures, as well as the problems of biomedical research. The obtained results allow to improve the effectiveness of monitoring methods of the road pavements, subbase and subgrade current condition.","PeriodicalId":167305,"journal":{"name":"2018 9th International Conference on Ultrawideband and Ultrashort Impulse Signals (UWBUSIS)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130424515","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The performances of presented models are discussed to illustrate their potential for obtaining the dielectric properties and composing a database which will is used to identify the unknown materials easily. Measurements are “high resolution” when compared to most surveillance radars, and the related applications are in the frame of clutter maps for cognitive radar, drones detection, radar ornithology, and more. After calibration, done using opportunity targets with known radar cross section and a clutter fence, we carry on an analysis and a comparison of land clutter, considering different weather conditions: dry and wet soil, as well as the rare event of snow. Using fixed opportunity targets, such as lamppost and/or a large cylindrical steel tanker, we describe the attenuation effects due to the natural clutter fence (in this case due to cane thicket near to the target position) and its mitigation when the natural fence is gradually removed. Finally, but importantly, we analyze the multipath phenomenon due to reflection/scattering on ground, and propose a procedure to estimate the multipath factor and to correct for it.","PeriodicalId":167305,"journal":{"name":"2018 9th International Conference on Ultrawideband and Ultrashort Impulse Signals (UWBUSIS)","volume":"80 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133274616","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
